  1. Post colonoscopy

    by , 03-14-2007 at 05:46 PM
First of all thank you all who responded before Drinking the gallon of funk was the worst part of the whole process. I finally underwent the procedure this morning around 9:30 and all I can say is thanks to Demerol and Valium it was a breeze. I even talked the dr's head off and at one time asked him if I was talking too much ...he was nice about it though Thankfully the procedure didn't show anything so that's a huge relief. The bleeding stopped just before my consult with him so whatever ...

  2. I don't know how much more I can take

    by , 03-13-2007 at 08:19 PM
This stuff is torture. I have been trying to drink this jug since 4P and don't know how in the world I'm going to get all of this in by midnight. I feel like if I take one more drink of it I'm going to throw my guts up. The procedure has got to be better compared to this...at least they give you strong meds during that. It's so tempting to just stop and not go through with the procedure. You would think as advanced as technology is that they could give you a series of pills and assigned amt of water ...

  3. Getting a colonosocopy next week

    by , 03-08-2007 at 06:54 PM
I'm really not looking forward to it to say the least. I was hoping that he wouldn't do any further testing since the problem seemed to have stopped. Of course denial sounds great when thinking of that lovely procedure. Anyway he ruled out two possibilities and leaning toward a problem in the lower intestinal tract. He did mention that polyps is not that common for my age but he has seen it before. He explained if they are found they would be removed as they could turn cancerous. Hopefully we will ...

    ...because I'm falling freakin apart!

I've always heard that after you hit 30 things start breaking down and falling apart, they weren't lying. Today I saw my GYN for a problem and have been referred to a Gastro doctor on Thursday. I wasn't too thrilled with today's exam but she did confirm that there is blood coming somewhere from my lower intestinal tract. I really don't know how to feel about this because the first thing she asked is if colon cancer runs in the family. I'm hoping ...

  5. Good Day!

    by , 02-26-2007 at 02:01 PM
Wow what are the odds? Today I showed for jury duty and was dismissed AND I crossed Hwy 90 not once but TWICE in heels without being plowed down (The walk light at this intersection only gives like 5 seconds to cross 5 lanes of traffic, NO LIE!)

Back at work after being at school a week and feeling pumped now Only 6 more classes (4 more trips to GA Tech) and I should receive two OSHA Certifications Once certified I'm hoping to work less ...

  6. Completed my first major sewing project - pics

    by , 02-06-2007 at 08:01 AM
Well major to me that is since I'm a beginner. I LOVE my sewing machine I got for Christmas and always wanted to learn to sew. After playing around with tiny projects like hemming curtains and clothes, I had a brainstorm for a curtain I wanted for my kitchen window. I fell in love with a coffee themed runner and thought it would make a great window shade since my kitchen is coffee themed. Although it took two days to make (and a lot of pulling and re-sewing) I'm so proud of the way it turned out ...

  7. Final diagnosis of Alzheimers

    by , 01-23-2007 at 07:58 AM
I've blogged many times last year during my grandmother's course of breast cancer in February and 2 massive strokes in November. Yesterday we received another diagnosis from her Neurologist that the bleeding and swelling in her brain from the last stroke has onset Alzheimers. It explains why sometimes she knows us and sometimes she doesn't and why she tries to climb out of windows or sneak out the door. We thought she was getting better. She's totally mobile and tries to do things for herself, but ...

    by , 01-22-2007 at 12:32 PM
I went in today for my post op checkup and was SO pleased to see I was down 7 lbs that I wanted to hug their scale I was shocked because I've ate birthday cake Saturday & Sunday and then decided it would be a great idea to make a king cake yesterday afternoon, which I was shoving in my mouth at 9PM last night Anyway the dr showed the LEEP biopsy results to me and explained the margins were clear. Exam went fine...well as fine as a gyn exam could be and I go back in 6 months for ...

  9. Scratch that last blog

    by , 01-19-2007 at 02:39 PM
    ugh

I'm blaming this onset on dh's job. We just received his W2 and for some unknown reason to the bookkeeper Federal has not been withholding any money from his paychecks this year (where's the pass out smiley here??) I never see paystubs since his check is automatically deposited. I called the bookkeeper who said they've not changed anything in the system. I pulled his 2005 W2's which were perfectly fine. She said "Oh I think I know why, he's claiming married/7" ...
