From Detox to Pregnancy

I was planning on blogging in two weeks, after my 12 week/NT scan, but as I had some exciting news from this weekend I thought I would share. But first how things are going:

I am starting to settle down from the m/s and eating more. I find the m/s worst at night - so I try to eat more at lunch. I am also grazing through the day - which I think helps. I have also upped my fibre load, and accepting my bodies now slow ability to digest food. I decided my second favourite room at home ...

Wow. The last few weeks have been slightly insane for me! I am just over 8 weeks now, have moved onto my ob (which also happens to be my fertility specialist), and have had quite a rollercoaster few weeks.

Last week I started to spot. I know that it is quite common, but I didn't realise the fear that you have when you see it. It became red over that weekend, and I was told to rest for a few days. What I didn't realise is I was also sick - and ended up in bed for over a week, which ...

Wow. So I am 6 weeks 3 days pregnant, and I had my first ultrasound. I feel so blessed as I saw one perfect little heartbeat. The idea that this little beating heart will beat in my child's body for the rest of it's life is the most amazing thing. It was amazing, awesome and surreal. I am so emotional!!! It is so good.

Yet getting to this point has been much tougher than I expected. I guess the one thing people don't really tell you about when you go through infertility treatments, ...

I started this cycle on my 34th birthday with my first injection, and i have got the best birthday present ever!

I had my blood taken yesterday - and I am pregnant . The beta was 448 at 17dpiui, and my progesterone was 61. I am being put down to crinone every second day! It feels so much more real now!

I feel so blessed - this is something I thought I would never experience. At 17 I was told I was infertile (not that I had a fertility ...

So for those that have been following my progress, I did 2 IUI's that ended up with a short Luteal phase and my hopes being dashed. I decided to take a month off, do a detox and see if i could get knocked up. At 4am this morning, I POAS and I got two lines!!!! A BFP ! I am still in shock, and keep looking at that line! I am 13dpiui for those interested, and have my beta on Monday.

All has gone well so far with my IUI. I can't tell you all how different this round has been. I triggered and didn't get any of the real nasty side effects (sore boobs etc), but I do feel a few days later a little down, bloated and well tummy is not so great. However compared to my first two rounds I feel awesome! The IUI wasn't so great, very crampy and bleeding a little - but as I never had these in the first two rounds, I have to take that as a super positive sign this is different!

Wow. I am spinning this morning! Went in for my second ultrasound, and I have two big juicy follies measuring at 16 and 18mm! So I have booked in my IUI for Friday. Friday is CD15, a huge change from the CD19 IUI's I had on my last two medicated cycles. I also stuck on the one dose of 75 through the whole process! First time we did not need to up my meds!

Okay so I am not pregnant .. yet ...! But I have had some success!

I have been on puregon (FSH) 75 for the last 8 days! Today is cd11 for me, and I went in for my first ultrasound. I have a 12mm follicle! Now this might seem normal for everyone else, but for me we never see anything till a) we up my dosage of meds and b) it happens about cd 15 (to this size!) with Ovulation occurring about cd19 (on a medicated cycle; on a non-medicated cycle it took ages, about cd24). Since I have finished with the detox, I have kept to the diet (as much as possible), with the addition of rye bread. I did lose another 0.5kg (just over a pound), which I did not expect (as I am eating a little differently!). I think I ovulated really late in the month, and so I have been patiently awaiting AF. I had an acupuncture session, and surprise, surprise, guess who started to spot that night?

Well the good news -
AF arrived about two weeks after I thought I O'D! So... ...

So I finished the detox last night. So so happy! Those drinks were killing me. I stopped posting food diaries as they became repititive and I lost a bit of will to keep posting the same stuff!

So the last two weeks were a real struggle. I am really glad I don't have to go for another two weeks. It means I can now focus on the next round of IUI and trying to get pregnant/have a healthy body and a healthy baby!
