Well, we went in at 2:30 in the morning Friday, the doctor broke my water at 7 and I had some pretty icky contractions for a couple of hours and then decided that I should find the anesthesiologist for my epidural. After that, I basically felt nothing, took a nap for an hour and 20 minutes later they told me that I was fully dilated. I "labored down" for another hour or so and then they had me start pushing. I seriously only pushed maybe 3 times and they had me stop, cuz they needed to find the doctor! She came in, I pushed maybe one or two more times and out came Ariel! I was so shocked at how easy it was. Amazing thing to do and see, absolute miracle. She was 7 pounds 5 ounces and 18 3/4 long.
We are home and adjusting to everything. It's a lot of work and we both get discouraged at times, but we're both more than happy. Matt is such a good daddy, it's so cute. He doesn't even hardly play music in the house anymore, cuz he's trying to be quiet. He just loves his little girl, he wants to spend time with her as much as he can. I told him that it's going to be hard when he has to go back to work next week.
We were a little worried about her weight loss for a while there, but she's gained more weight and is eating like a little piggie, so I think we are out of the woods with that now. All her newborn testing came back perfect, so she's all nice and healthy!!
I am so thankful for all my friends and family who have been there for me during this time (and even before, with all of our struggles with infertility).I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful support group!
