  1. Buttercup passed...

    by , 03-13-2008 at 11:58 AM
Jacobs little hamster that we got last year died last week. They only live 2-3 years so it wasnt a big shock, although I did expect her to last a bit longer.
My moms foster dd gave them bananas without me knowing...she may have gotten blocked up from that??
Yesterday, I went and bought him another hamster and she is sooo adorable. A light solid cream color. All the ladies at the pet store were saying how sweet she was (she had been there a couple months) and as we walked to the counter ...

  2. The 3 things

    by , 02-27-2008 at 11:51 AM
I mentioned in a previous blog the book I read by Thomas Joiner, Why People Die from Suicide. There are 3 basic things needed for this to happen and knowing these things can really help you keep perspective and keep from being the 'alarmist' or to passive. Many of us hold onto the old saying, 'better safe then sorry'....and so we always react. This knowledge can give you relief of always needing to take it seriously when infact it most likely wont happen.
    So, reason number one-
    The ...

  3. Ok, so he has promised...

    by , 02-27-2008 at 10:54 AM
The ex came over last night asking if he could have his visit and he promises to buckle our children...he PROMISES! I told him Jacob was saying the same thing and Im going to hold you to it. So I let him take the kids to dinner with him. Then we talked about the overnights. He wants them to be able to come to his house but then was blaming the kids for not leaving the dog alone and I said if you cant supervise them to make sure they leave the dog alone, I cant let them be there. Also, they cant ...

Uhg. I have degenerative bone loss. This sucks the big one! Makes me feel so old.
Ive stopped visits with the ex and my children. Surprising I know. Ive just had the last straw. He hasnt been using carseats even when I supply him with them. He smokes around my asthmatic dd's. This past weekend, Vi got bit by a dog of his room mate. I reported it (because I had to take her to the DR.) and come to find out this is probably a dangerous dog. Phew, thank goodness for mommy instincts. Ex Im sure ...

Im at a friends house and thought I would give a little update.
Things are going good. Violet is doing well at school and considering how things were before, home life is something I certainly cant really complain about. Life still revolves around her but moreso to avoid obvious stressors. We dont go out later in the evenings because she is most likely to tired to be pleasant. When she is tired, the only option with her is a nap or a complete cranky butt! I was worried recently that with ...

  6. Birthday

    by , 01-14-2008 at 12:53 PM
It was Vi's bday on Saturday. We also caught up a bit on Codi and her bio brothers bday so they each got a few gifts also. It was fun. Vi is 6 now!
She's doing pretty well. Still gets difficult when tired or hungrey and today, I guess she fell asleep in class!! lol My poor girl. Bus schedule wasnt working out and they were cutting her school time by a half hour. So I called the school psychologist this morning and we fixed that. She's entitled to her full 3 hours of kinder and to be transported ...

  7. Thank you ladies!

    by , 01-04-2008 at 11:33 AM
Thanks girls for sharing in my anger! Im sorta torn about what to do. At times I want to send a bunch of info and a letter to ex's family about Vi and try and educate them. But because I dont know what reaction Ill get Im hesitent to even try. At the same time, the info they have gotten from ex has got to be practically nill, so maybe if they were educated a bit on it????? I dont know. Its a good size family, they cant all be stupid....can they? lol
I may try, just for Vi's sake. Plus, ...

  8. Today

    by , 12-29-2007 at 02:27 PM
While the children are at the ex's for xmas vacation, he had his SIL babysit for a bit. Guess what she did?

She took my dd Violet by the shoulders and said- Do not listen to your mom or the Dr.s. Do not trust them, you are NOT bipolar. Listen to me, Aunt C is telling you, you are not biploar and its ok if you get mad or angry.

My girls, both Codi and Violet told her she was wrong and that Vi IS bipolar. She just kept doing it though, telling Vi over and over how wrong ...

  9. Wenesday

    by , 12-19-2007 at 11:55 AM
My girl is still doing well and just keeps amazing me everday. Yesterday she needed a blood draw to check her med levels. Before we always needed several people to hold her down and it would be very traumatic for her. While she was in the hospital she somehow learned to get thru it without a fit. I dont think Ive ever been so proud. She was scared, she cried, but she let them do it...not only once, but twice because they missed the first time. Everyone in there was rooting her on and cheered for ...

  10. She's home :) :) :)

    by , 12-12-2007 at 11:31 AM
My girl is home. She came home last Thursday. I only have a minute and then need to go get her from school. She is going an hour and half a day and we'll work up from there.
She is for the most part, stable!!! Life is much better right now and its just the best xmas present ever to see my girl, and to hear her say, she is happy.
Meds were fine tuned and we seem to be on the right track for now. I couldnt be happier and life feels real good again.
With her home, I have even ...
