  1. Our Ozzy is gone:(

    by , 01-25-2009 at 10:36 PM
I cant really do personals now. We had to have Ozzy euthanized tonight. He had Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (GDV). His stomach twisted cutting off inlet and outlet of the stomach. As soon as they saw the size of his stomach they knew that's what is was. When we looked at the x-ray all you could see was stomach. It was filling with gas and he was VERY uncomfortable. We discussed everything with the Dr and with his age(12) and health (declining in the last 6 months) the best option was just to ...

  2. Jack's a natural at swimming

    by , 01-25-2009 at 09:11 PM
He was awesome today in the pool. I wasn't sure how he would like it, but he just kicked and splashed away for over 1/2 an hour.

DH and I both think he is so good at it because he had so much water to swim inside of me

Oh and both Joey and Alex had no bubbles today. They can both reach the bottom of the pool flat footed with their heads out of the water. And the both swim like little fish, even under the water. This is perfect timing for WDW.

  3. Job Interview Tomorrow

    by , 01-25-2009 at 05:05 PM
I want to work but I don't want to work. I need it to be just right. Is that even possible nowadays? A mom who wants to work part time and also be there for her child? The school system is just taking FOREVER. We could use a few extra bucks around here too. I don't know. We'll see how it goes. I'm trying not to be nervous.

  4. Pinewood Derby

    by , 01-25-2009 at 04:25 PM
We just joined Scouts two weeks ago and this was the first Pinewood Derby for my boys. I was so not interested, I didn't even go. He won 3rd place and got the first trophy of his life and I missed it!

But I have trained DH and he took lots of pictures!

  5. Happy B'day Jessica and John - and proving that boys are easier than girls.

    by , 01-25-2009 at 12:01 PM
In a insanity laden moment, we agreed to back to back sleep over parties for the kids birthday. So on Friday night Jan. 23 we had 6 boys and Saturday night Jan. 24, we had 5 girls for sleep overs. We just let the boys run! They started outside playing star wars and running after each other with make shift light sabers. In for pizza, cake and then roasted marshmallows in the fire place for s'mores, turned on the movie star wars which held their attention for the most part for the next three hours. ...

  6. Sleepover Invitation

    by , 01-24-2009 at 08:06 PM
Susannah came home with an invitation to the girls birthday party... with a note that SHE is invited to the sleepover following the party.

I know she's going to be devastated, but I cannot. Just cannot. It will undo all of my ignoring and avoiding of the past 6 months... hoping the mom would get the hint.

    Ugh! UGH UGH UGH!

Tonight she has the little boy next door over for a sleepover. And he is a DREAM! So sweet! Such manners! ...

  7. What a day of action....

    by , 01-24-2009 at 04:32 PM
and it still isn't over! I didn't end up going to VBI this afternoon. I feel as if I'm getting a stomach virus so I decided to stay home.

I read the updates that FINALLY posted, then Cody texted too. He lost to Freeman, so he's in the finals for 3rd/4th spot. -I'm still anxiously waiting to hear the outcome on his final match.

Matt on the other hand, was wrestling a JV tournament today at Lake HS which was too far for me to drive on my budget, which is why if ...

  8. Workshare/ good news on dh's last pay cut

    by , 01-24-2009 at 04:04 PM
Well, it looks like we might be making back some of the 10% cut he just took. In correlation with the 10% cut, they now close the office at noon on Fridays...in RI our Unemployment office (DLT) has a program called WorkShare...basically its to encourage employers to cut hours instead of complete layoffs...as long as the jobcut is between 10-50% of hours, and it affects the entire workforce, and the employees work between 30-40 hr a week, if the employer cuts the hours/pay rather than lays off, ...

  9. Vbi

Session I of the VanBuren Invitational was last night. Session II is today, then Finals are scheduled to start at 4pm today. Cody had 4th seed for the tourny. Could have had 3rd, better record than the 3rd seed, but due to the way the seeds would draw out Coach Lee voluntarily gave up 3rd seed for him and wanted him to have 4th.

I was able to go for last nights session, and Cody won both of his matches. First match, he pinned his guy in 1:04. Second match he won by major decision ...

  10. Not A Good Visit

    by , 01-24-2009 at 09:10 AM
Got to go spend an hour and half with Carson last night. It was so hard - because his white blood cell is so low he's on protective watch and I had to wear a gown, mask and gloves to see him. I couldn't feel his skin and I couldn't kiss him good-bye. It was really rough on me. He was in some pain - when I got there he was on his belly because it helps him breathe better, and after half an hour into my visit he was screaming in pain and literally scooting up the isolette bed to try and get comfortable. ...
