  1. My Big Night Out

    by , 03-31-2007 at 10:33 AM
I finally went Easter shopping last night. DH got home at 6something and I thought I wouldn't go. I put Susannah in the bath around 7:30, and decided I just needed to get it done. Left Dh in charge of the bath and took off.

I went to the Hallmark closest to my house, hoping they had a different variety of Webkinz. No such luck... they had three total, and they were all Unicorns, which we already have. So I drove across town to the Hallmark which I knew had some but did not have the ...

  2. DH was mad, but it worked.....

    by , 03-31-2007 at 09:04 AM
We had some windows sitting here that needed to be installed. DH's friend does all of this kind of stuff for us, but you can NEVER get him to come. The windows have been sitting for months.

So I called and left a message on his machine yesterday. I said, "We need the windows done, we are listing our house in 2 weeks. If you can't do it, that is fine, but we need to know so we can find someone else." DH was beyond pissed that I did this.

    But, guess what, ...

  4. Business dining etiquette

    by , 03-31-2007 at 12:52 AM
Tonight, the members of the Student Association board were invited to attend a business dining etiquette night in the President's office at the school. Dh and I are both on the board so we both had the privilege to attend. We treated it as a mini-date since we had to get a babysitter and we got all dressed up. First was an hour-long presentation given by a former colleague of the President. She touched on subjects ranging from business attire to conversation, RSVPing and introducing people to ...

  5. My little diva!

    by , 03-31-2007 at 12:47 AM
Brooklyn has taken to commenting various people for various things. She has said things like, "I like your toenails!" or "I like your shirt!" to babysitters that we've had lately. Today, while I was sitting with her while she went potty before bed, she said to me, "I like your hair!" which I had done wavy and put the front portion up. In another instance, I was prepping her hair for our Easter picture session. I straightened the top of her hair and then curled the ...

  6. Stuck!

    by , 03-31-2007 at 12:34 AM
We got to sleep in a bit this morning since dh didn't have class today. The kids all woke up about the same time and Gav cried for a sec, but then they were all giggling, so I just let them have a little fun while dh and I laid in bed a little longer. I finally went in to get Gavin so I could nurse him and there he is, with one of his legs stuck through the slats of his crib! Oops! No wonder he was crying!! I turned his leg sideways and got him unstuck. Then I realized I should have ...

  7. How can people be so inconsiderate??

    by , 03-31-2007 at 12:30 AM
It's Spring Break for the local university, which we live pretty close to. We have a some undergrad students in our apartment complex and just happen to be lucky enough to have some of those said students living in the apartment above us. Honestly, I don't even know who lives there or how many people live up there! There are constantly people tromping up and down the stairs.

So last night, I'm sleeping soundly and all of a sudden, I hear music thumping through their floor/our ceiling ...

  8. Oh the jobs being a mother entails!!

    by , 03-30-2007 at 11:41 PM
I took Brooklyn in to the peds this morning to get her checked out about the UTI. It was nice to have a little bit of Mommy & Brooklyn time, out together. She was dressed so cute with her turquoise top, brown gauchos, chunky brown flip-flops and her purse slung over her shoulder!! We got into the exam room and the nurse told me that they'd need a urine sample. Of course! I knew that was coming! So, I took Brooklyn into the bathroom and explained to her that I needed her to pee in this ...

  9. It's midnight

    by , 03-30-2007 at 11:19 PM (I'm just a normal gal...)
and I'm still up. It's been one hell of a week. I needed to just have some me time. Just sitting on my butt and doing nothing. That's virtually impossible with two boys and a husband around. This week has been sooooooooo trying. Today was the breaking point and during naptime I just sat on the couch and cried for a good 5 minutes and I felt so much better.. then I had to suck it up and get with the program. Mommies and daycare providers are not allowed to cry. There's so many thoughts swirling ...
