  1. Night Terrors

    by , 09-06-2005 at 11:03 AM
Evan had his, I believe, 3rd terror on Sunday night. They have been very spread out over his 2years, so I'm not overly concerned. I just can't believe I didn't recognize it as a terror immediately. He started crying at 2 am. I went in and picked him up. Usually just picking him up and holding him for a few seconds will calm him down. He was fighting me and crying--eyes wide open. Dh finally came up. Then it dawned on me--night terror. We put him down. Hugged Ally (very worried little ...

  2. Louisiana

    by , 09-02-2005 at 08:33 AM
I cannot believe the footage of NO. My heart breaks for Gulfport and all the other affected areas.

I lived for one year in Louisiana. My parents have lived there since I was a senior in college. They moved their for my father to further his career within PPG--to get on the fast track. They had every intention of moving back north as soon as the situation presented itself. My parents will NEVER leave LA. And they have been given numerous opportunities. They have built ...

  4. A child free weekend

    by , 08-30-2005 at 08:32 AM
    Yes, you read that right.

Thursday afternoon my dh and I and another couple packed up their RV and headed to Bristol, TN for the NASCAR weekend. My MIL (who I often complain about--I really need to appreciate her more!) watched all 4 of my children for most of the weekend. Amazingly brave individual. My mil is single--so she didn't even have a dh to pitch in. She also dealt with Bethany who was in her final stage of weaning. Wow!

    We arrived in Bristol ...

  5. My secret is out

    by , 08-24-2005 at 09:38 PM
Check my siggy--it's official. I wanted to tell a few people 'personally' on the boards before I went public. One would be my sister! Can you imagine her logging on to FT to see my pg announcement. The distance between WV and TX would be my only saving grace! So, Yes, I'm pg again. Number 5. When do they kick you off FT? It's a surprise (hate the word accident). I said I was open to another child--I just wasn't thinking next year Silly me!

    I finally tested ...

  6. Twin Talk

    by , 08-23-2005 at 12:44 PM
Time to record a few things I need to remember.

**Sunday I decided that Bethany might enjoy our Rock,Roll 'n Ride trike made into a rocker. So, I reconfigure it and Ally decides that's not going to fly. She starts trying to fix it. Evan from across the deck notices her distress. He jumps down from the chair and says "Don't worry, Awee" and comes to help.

** Evan calls PopTarts 'Toptarts' while Ally calls them "Poppys". ...

  7. Rainy day

    by , 08-19-2005 at 06:51 AM
I love 'em! Woke to a beautiful steady downpour this morning. It's dark and dreary and my children have been tricked into sleeping later .

We were supposed to go to a pool party this afternoon. I'm guessing by the looks of the sky that that might not come about. . But, Bethany was up with a fever last night, so it really puts me off the hook. I think it is just her molars (she likes to cut all her teeth at once).

    I've been cleaning like a mad ...

  8. Concerns about my little man

    by , 08-16-2005 at 07:51 PM
Lately, I've been having some concerns about little guy. So today I hauled him off to the dr (ok--nurse practioner--good friend of family, too. ).

The most obvious problem is excema (I cannot spell, sorry). We knew he had it--we've been battling small spots since he was a baby. But, now, it's EVERYWHERE. Poor guy--his feet, hands, knees, trunk....Ugh. She gave us steriod cream for that.

The other concern is sort of convoluted. Evan has always had waxy, disgusting ...

  9. The Impossible (Joe Nichols)

    by , 08-16-2005 at 09:33 AM
My dad chased monsters from the dark
    He checked underneath my bed
He could lift me with one arm way up over top his head
He could loosen rusty bolts with a quick turn of his wrench
He'd pull splinters from his hand and never even flinch
In thirteen years I'd never seen him cry
But the day that Grandpa died I realized

    Chorus
    Unsinkable ships sink
    Unbreakable walls break
Sometimes the things you think could never happen, ...

  10. Cheerleading

    by , 08-16-2005 at 08:58 AM
We've decided to let Jilli cheer for the peewee football league this year. Let me just say it's a strange new world for me. I was never a cheerleader. I don't think I ever even wanted to be a cheerleader. My high school was pretty small--so I knew all the cheerleaders and was friends with most on some level. I personally was in silk corps (flag line/drill team/ whatever you called it). Yep, a bandee.

So, anyway, this cheer stuff is pretty intense. Jilli is now a ...
