YAHOOO!!!
the guy who heads the first responder class (the first of a two part series that will lead to me gaining my emt-b license) has agreed to let me into the class even though it is full and listed as registration closed.
i am so so happy!!!

now i just have to figure out how the heck i am going to work out taking the second course over the summer.....but i will gladly tackle that hurdle when i come to it

and on the positive side...i get out of he house and have adult conversation one night a week...and get to use my brain which i am afraid is becoming mommyfied rather quickly

Did you switch gears from med student to EMT student? Congrats on getting into your class that you need !

Ooooohhhhh Becky! You are going to LOVE it! I have been an EMT-B for almost 10 years now and it is one of the few things in life that gives you back far more than you ever put into it. Of course, it comes with its fair share of heartache and frustration at times, but the positive aspects of the job far outweigh any negatives. In fact, I am seriously considering going on for my Paramedic licensure and work doing that while I go back to nursing school. That's probably a year or two off right now, but I figure I still have lots of time to think about what I want to be when I grow up!

OMGosh I'm so excited for you! Keep in touch and let me know how it goes, OK???

PS - I will be in IL in early March. Maybe we could finally meet!?!?

no this is something i have been wanting to do for a while and have finally found the time to do so. i am hoping it will help my applications by showing a continuing interest and dedication to the health profession field.

on the plus side it will provide some extra mad money for mommy (which of course will be spent on the la board and other school expenses) while i am in and prepping for school and is something that can be done at night
