The kids and I leave in the morning to go to VA for the funeral. I think I have all my bases covered.

Wish me luck...I have never driven this far alone with the kids!

He passed away about 7:40pm. He was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer on October 5, 2007, and was given 22 months to live.

Well, he made it 19 months....

He died at home, with his wife, sons, and sister with him. He leaves 5 grandchildren behind.

He was predeceased by an infant daughter, 2 brothers, and of course...my girls. he now has joined them in the spiritual plane....


Rest in Peace, ****. We love you.

Everything moves in slow motion!

Went to Wal-mart. and the cashier was very nice, just incredibly slow.

Ran to the grocery store....had 5 items. The self scan was all backed up (no idea why), so I picked a short line. Well, this lady was a high maintenance chick who wanted paper and plastic bags, and asked all sorts of questions. Couple this with another SLOW check out person.....ARGH!!!

Kids will be home any minute....I have been home maybe 5 minutes. ...

I am not a flavored water person. But given the stress of the current situation, I decided that maybe a touch more energy would be needed (which is a big joke, because anyone who knows me knows that I Go GO GO!!!!!!).

Bought a Lo-Carb Monster Energy drink. No offense to those who like this stuff, but it just ain't my bag baby!

Kevin flew home yesterday. Last night, the nurse was thinking it was going to happen over night, or maybe early today.

So far, no change.

How awkward to just stand around and wait for someone to die.

Kevin's dad is down to weeks left before he passes. And in my opinion, that might be generous.

I have put together all the items we will need for the wake in a garment bag, so all I have to do is grab the bag. 2 dresses for me, jewelry, hose, shoes. Kevin's suit, 2 shirts and ties, socks, belt, undershirts, shoes. I don't want to think about it when the time comes....easier to just do it now, while things are calm.

Once Kevin gets the call to fly home, I will ...

Caeden had to write a story and draw a picture about her weekend with Fantastic Frog (stuffed animal that the kids take turns bringing home from school).

The picture was of our computer/playroom.

The walls are orange (they are really a deep peanuty-golden color).
Drew the dresser we use for storage with boxes on top. One is a book box....the rest are various boxes that I need to do something with, but she felt compelled to draw.

By 5:45pm, I had already....

Done the dishes (sink clean and shiny)
Set up coffee for tomorrow
Set up breakfast
Made lunches for tomorrow
Set up Nicholas' feeding pump for tonight


Gee, you think I don't wanna do anything tomorrow morning???

UGH.

I am trying to clean all the kitchen cabinets, and unfortunately, the ones near the stove have a film of grease on the top edge, with dust embedded in it. (nice, huh?).

I have tried 3 cleaners, a sponge, rag, my Rubba Scrubba. Nothing is really helping. I might resort to the Magic Eraser, but that tends to rub the paint off, so that is my last ditch effort.

These are the things that really make me feel like my house is never clean!!!
