  1. Poor DH...

    by , 03-26-2007 at 01:47 PM
Although I know I complain (A LOT) about my DH here on FT, he really IS a very nice guy. As I’ve mentioned, he’s LARGE – about 6’5” and over 300 pounds. He started dieting for the New Year (really just not drinking regular sodas and Snapple all day) and has lost close to 45 pounds – yeah! However, because he’s so big, most people still don’t notice

Anyway, he lost his secretary a couple of weeks ago (she got a promotion & transferred to another department at the ...

  2. GD Girl Scout Cookies

    by , 03-13-2007 at 02:24 PM
I'm not one to hop on the scale too often -- typically I only weigh myself at the doctor (required!) or when something that used to fit doesn't anymore

Well, yesterday I attempted to put on TWO different pair of pants, only to find them both VERY difficult to zip & button. Of course, I assumed I had shrunk them in the dryer (yeah, I wish) so hopped on the scale at the gym yesterday after my workout. 134 - YIKES!- I weighed 127 at my appointment in mid-January and ...

  3. FOREVER infertile

    by , 03-05-2007 at 03:38 PM
How can some people’s infertility just "go away"?! You know who I'm talking about, the ones who "give up" after trying (and sometimes failing) at 3, 4, or even 7 fresh IVF cycles only to have success on their own later?? I currently have FOUR friends in this same situation and received yet another “Wow, can you believe it?” e-mails again yesterday. She failed 4 fresh cycles, gave up, has given birth to 2 beautiful daughters in the past 3 years and is SURPRISE pregnant yet ...

  4. Corporate BS

    by , 02-05-2007 at 04:21 PM
Well, I'm always talking about how nice it is to work for a Fortune 500 company, the benefits, the retirement, the pension - but the corporate red tape BS does wear one down...

I was "forced" to take a vacation day at the end of last year because they don't allow employees to carry over more than 3 weeks. So, even though my kids were off school, because I had my nanny already scheduled, I took a day off for absolutely NOTHING (wasted day).

    Turns out, ...

  5. Yeah, yours don't LOOK like "fertility babies"

    by , 01-29-2007 at 04:22 PM
WTF kind of comment is that?!

It's times like this when I wish I wasn't such an scared idiot to speak of my own IF issues. Yes, sadly/oddly, even when asked outright - I deny the IVF. No, I'm not ashamed, just too "private" to share that little fact with the rest of the fertile world. Actually, the rest of the REAL world, fertile or not

We were at DD's Princess Party last weekend and another twin mom & I (our DD's are in one class and ...

  6. Birthdays

    by , 01-10-2007 at 02:32 PM
Well, DH & I have managed to BOTH get the next 2 days off work (unheard of) to take K&K to Disney for their Birthday. I'll pick them up after school tomorrow (hopefully, they'll both be healthy) and we have a hotel booked for Thursday & Friday, then home Saturday after the park.

We live in San Diego where it rains (seriously) 4-5 days a year. Well, yup, the forecast for Th-Sat is RAIN and strong winds with an expected high of 52 degrees! WTF?!?

    We're ...

  7. Anesthesia...

    by , 01-10-2007 at 02:24 PM
Are my kids the ONLY kids that seem to take much longer than the average to wake-up from anesthesia?? Yesterday, they told me Kyle would be in recovery for ~30 minutes before he woke up. Well, I waited... and waited... After a full hour, I'll admit that I was getting somewhat concerned, but once we hit 80 minutes I started to freak-out and went to get some "assistance"

He finally did come around (TG), then immediately started the vomiting. He's STILL throwing ...

  8. More private school woes...

    by , 12-18-2006 at 01:49 PM
The kids had yet another classmates Birthday party last Friday, and the house was absolutely unbelievable... I've never seen anything like it (including the mansions in Newport, RI) - must have been worth at least $6-7 million... Four seperate "lawns" - one formal, one large in front, one set-up for ONLY the children (they have 6), and one for "tea". ALL overlooking the pacific. And, again the father of this pre-Kindergartener was at least 60 Their kids range from ...

  9. HATE this time of year...

    by , 12-18-2006 at 01:43 PM
I know I can't be the ONLY one to absolutely HATE this time of year?? Hate putting up the house lights (DH is always out of town = no help), hate buying the tree and getting the **** tree stand on, hate the mess of decorating, hate shopping, hate crowds, hate that everyone & their mother shows up for mass - where the hell are they the other 51 weeks a year?! And, frankly, if it wasn't for on-line purchasing, no one would be getting anything!

Oh, and my kids' "pile o' ...
