Does that mean overstimulation when your estrogen is too high? I have 7 mature follies. Why does the doc say to refrain from sex? What will happen if I try at home to get pregnant if my estrogen level is too high? Can you still get pregnant? What are the risks?

The reason he told you to refrain from sex is because you have 7 mature follicles that could all become fertilized if you have sex and you could end up with 7 embryos (and later 7 babies!) It's not something you want to mess around with - the risk of high order multiples is greater with IUI than with IVF. Listen to your doctor.

Yeah, that would be pretty scary. No to octomom! Another question. My first treatment was with clomid and 2 days of Repronex injections. I only had one follicule and I had a trigger HCG injection. Then 24 hrs after that, I had insem. No success. Then the second cycle I had to skip due to a cyst caused from the meds. So finally another cycle came and the doc suggested more of an aggressive treatment because since the last time I only had one egg. So I did 7 days of 3 ampules of Repronex and had overstimulated. So that was cancelled. Then I transfered to a different clinic. This doctor started me up on 5 days of Repronex (2 ampules) then everything looked good on friday, she said to inject the HCG trigger shot that evening and 36 hours later I would be insemed. But then I was cancelled again because of high estrogen. My question is, after the HCG trigger shot, do you ovulate 24 or 36 hours after that?

I just went thru with a cycle where they thought there could be 6 follicles. They told me if your estrogen is high you have a higher risk of ovarian hyperstimulation which can be really really bad (not to be confused with overstimulation).

My clinic says after the HCG shot you ovulate 36-40 hours later. I have had the shot and known that I was ovulating about 48 hours later.

I have an appointment this thursday with my doctor to review my treatment plan. I'm thinking the worst. I'm thinking she might say that I wont be able to use hormone meds anymore. I had used clomid 1st and last two days of Menopur. Then the last two cycles I used only Menopur and Repronex. Is there a limit on how many times you can use the meds?
