My oldest DD is supposed to stay after school for Daisy Scouts (Girl Scouts) today. For her to do that, I have to go pick up youngest DD and take her somewhere while oldest DD has scouts. I guess I am scared for myself too. After doing a lot of research, I've learned that the realistic odds of my baby having Down Syndrome are 1:2. A few sources have indicated that is more like 69%. The particular heart defect that she has is one of the strongest markers for Down's. As if having a rare and life-threatening heart defect wasn't enough, now I also worry that she will have a serious chromosomal issue. Oh the mindset of a 4-year-old! She told me she couldn't wipe because she was "too tired." I told her I wasn't going to do it for her. She spent about 10 minutes sitting on the potty before she finally gave in and took care of business. I had to smile as I heard her grumbling as she washed her little hands.

I had my 1st u/s today. Based on LMP, I am 6w2d pregnant. The doc saw a "sac" and "yolk sac" but no fetal pole or heartbeat. Based on my beta numbers and my doubling time of less than 48 hrs, my levels should be near 30,000 now. I've looked at tons of articles that indicate that number would be way more than enough to see a fetal pole and heartbeat.
