I still can't believe they are TWO! Sigh......

I made separate appts for them since they are screamers and flailers and become FREAKISHLY STRONG when at the doctor. Willow was up first at 9am.

Stats:
Height: 34 inches (51%)
Weight: 24 lbs (14%)
Head: 19.25 inches (83%)
BMI: 14.65 (8%)

Her head and height probably aren't very accurate since she was screaming and flailing like they were trying to kill her. She is doing pretty well and...

Her bandages are freaking her out.

Posted 05-24-2009 at 06:19 PM by littlecalista

Piper had her first post-surgery bath last night. I guess up until that point she hadn't noticed her bandages. She was thrilled to have a bath finally, until half way through when she stood up and Willow pointed to her bandages. OMG she FLIPPED OUT! She was hysterical, wanted them off, but didn't want anyone to touch them. She wanted out of the bath immediately. Poor thing!!

She had pretty much the same reaction tonight during bath time. Not quite the same level of shock and horror,...

Back from Piper's surgery

Posted 05-21-2009 at 10:26 AM by littlecalista

Piper knew something was up as soon as we dropped Finn and Willow off at my friend's house this morning. She was screaming for Willow when we left.
The surgery went really well. Piper was terrified of course. We took her to the pre-op holding area and the anesthesiologist came back and tried to talk to her. She wasn't having any of that. We had bought her a new singing doggy toy last night so the anesth. picked Piper up and the doggy and she cried at first, but then he distracted her with...

Piper's surgery is at 9:30am tomorrow (Thurs)

Posted 05-20-2009 at 08:28 PM by littlecalista

I was informed today that I will not be allowed to go back with her when they take her to the OR. I'm really worried about this. It was soooo soooo hard to let them walk off with Willow before her surgery, but at least she was a baby and didn't really know the difference. Plus, sadly, she was used to the hospital environment.

Piper is terrified of all things doctor related. TERRIFIED! Even checking in at the front desk sends her into a fit. I'm going to do my best to stay calm...

Piper's surgery is scheduled for the 21st

Posted 05-12-2009 at 02:52 PM by littlecalista

My poor little bunny will go under the knife in less than two weeks. UGH. The dread is mounting. I'm starting to second guess everything. I really wish she didn't need surgery.

Piper needs surgery

Posted 04-28-2009 at 09:37 PM by littlecalista

Sigh.....

Piper has an inguinal hernia. I noticed a bump in her side a few weeks ago. When I took her to the ped they weren't able to see it because she wouldn't stop freaking out so they advised me to catch it on video (which I did). I took her to the pediatric urologist today and he confirmed it and said they will have to do surgery to repair it. Thankfully this won't be a major surgery with a long recovery like Willow had, but it still brings back a lot of the same feelings....

126 pages??

Posted 02-20-2009 at 11:33 PM by littlecalista

I ordered my medical records from the hospital where I had the girls. I asked for everything (labs, surgical notes, etc) from 6/27-about 6/30. I got the prepay notice today (I have to pay before they will mail them) and it says there are 126 pages! Doesn't that seem like a lot?? I'm a little afraid to read them now!

The end of the road

Posted 02-19-2009 at 08:12 AM by littlecalista

DH has decided that we should NOT try to get pg again. He's too afraid of the risk of another accreta or worse. I went online trying to research subsequent pg after accreta and had a hard time finding much. The stats on accreta (and increta/percreta) are a little scary. Possible bedrest, extended hospital bedrest, major surgery and long recovery after delivery, and the "best" one....7-10% maternal death rate....that one sealed the deal for DH. I tried to plead my case, but he just kept...
