I feel like I've been punched in the gut.....

I recently pulled my old doll house out of the attic for Jesse to play with and he loves it. So for that I'm thrilled! Right now he and an 8 yo girl I'm watching are playing nicely with it together. I just overheard them arguing over whether the father is dead or not. Jesse must've won b/c I heard him telling A that the daddy figure is now the federal agent (I had NO idea he'd remember that phrase). He then took the "federal agent", had him walk to the door and proceeded to tell the Mommy that the Daddy had died.

I haven't intervened in their play at all. But at least I get to go tell them now it's time to go to the beach.
