LOL....I have my first test on Tuesday night and it's

Posted 09-01-2007 at 01:37 PM by LandJ

amazing how clean my house is, how all the laundry is washed, dried and folded, the dishwasher is emptied, etc. I remember doing the SAME thing in college proscrasting studying for a test.

Thankfully, this test is basically a review. I had to learn all this stuff multiple times while working on my BS and MA. And if I have to learn about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs one more time I'm going to SCREAM!!!!!

Last night went great....today, not so much.

Posted 08-29-2007 at 10:25 AM by LandJ

Last night was the first night of school. My sitter's college hasn't started yet so she's not back in town until the w/e. I dropped J off at my sister's where they had dinner and played. Then she came back over here for bath and bedtime. Jesse's never had anyone but me put him to bed here at home. When I need to be out late he just spends the night at the il's. He did just fine last night according to my sister, but something must've triggered. Today my fil came to preschool to pick J up and...

Weird blog entry, I know....

Posted 08-23-2007 at 12:48 PM by LandJ

but I just love my car repair place. I've used them since we moved back to town 7 years ago. The owner's parents retired from the state school my Dad retired from. I had to take my Ford truck to the Ford Dealer Service Center to fix a recall issue. While it was there I had them change the oil which comes with their "21 point inspection." Surprise! They found all kinds of things that needed to be fixed, did I want them to repair them all. Um....nope, I'll take it to my usual guy,...

I'm just so tired and frustrated.....

Posted 08-21-2007 at 05:12 PM by LandJ

There are just some things I cannot do myself and I can't afford to hire someone to come in and do this stuff for me. Today I bought a new wireless printer. It's asking me for information I just don't know where to find. I've called both the printer company and my wireless provider to no avail. I've worked on this on and off for 4 hours now. I can't STAND being on hold for 30 minutes just to talk to some Ackmed (my name is Harry, sure) in Bombay and not understand a word he's saying!!! I'm gonna...

Tonight I am thankful for....

Posted 08-16-2007 at 05:08 PM by LandJ

my friends.

This afternoon I kept a friend's two daughters. She and I were in the same circle of friends all through school and in church growing up. Right after graduation she moved to TN for college, married and remained there. We've kept in touch through the years, see each other briefly when she comes to town to visit her parents, etc. Her mother was dx with ca a few weeks ago then died really quickly last week. The DAY OF THE FUNERAL her uncle died! She and her husband...

Jesse and I just had a good cry...

Posted 08-09-2007 at 06:34 PM by LandJ

He's been asking a lot about what heaven's like. He's got an age appropriate devotion book with a good description of heaven so I read it to him tonight. Then when he was saying his prayers he was almost in tears throughout so I asked him what was wrong (knowing full well). He's glad b/c he's Daddy's in heaven, but misses him. So we both had a really good cry together. It's been a long time since we've done that. On one hand I'm sad that he's sad. But on the other hand, I'm thrilled b/c this...

Posted 08-09-2007 at 02:30 PM by LandJ

Is if having to wear scrubs to class isn't bad enough!!! I just went to pick them up! THEY'VE GOT HEARTS ALL OVER THEM!! I HATE hearts! There's flowers, too, but HEARTS?!!! UGH!!!! At least the ones for clinicals are the traditional all white.

I feel like I've been punched in the gut.....

Posted 08-07-2007 at 08:11 AM by LandJ

I recently pulled my old doll house out of the attic for Jesse to play with and he loves it. So for that I'm thrilled! Right now he and an 8 yo girl I'm watching are playing nicely with it together. I just overheard them arguing over whether the father is dead or not. Jesse must've won b/c I heard him telling A that the daddy figure is now the federal agent (I had NO idea he'd remember that phrase). He then took the "federal agent", had him walk to the door and proceeded to tell the...

Whoa! How do you guys do it?

Posted 08-06-2007 at 05:36 PM by LandJ

Those with more than one kid, I mean. I had Jesse today, plus two girls I often watch when their regular sitter can't. I'll have them all week. Then this a.m. a very good and very old friend of mine called. She's been in town all week b/c her mother's in the dying process. Well, her Mom died this a.m. so could I watch the girls (20 months and 3 yo). The only other person in town she trusts to watch them works f/t so I was her only option. "SURE" I pop out with. So she brings them...

Today just sucks....

Posted 07-10-2007 at 06:57 PM by LandJ

...well, except for the fact that I treated myself to a massage.

I dropped $175 for nursing scrubs even though I have a closet full of them! And can someone please tell me the whole stupid point behind nursing (actually a lot of medical fields) students wearing scrubs to class? Obviously, clinicals are one thing but why to class? Honestly, it's just a big waste of money if you ask me since the "classroom" scrubs are a different color/pattern than the clinicals. I mean....do...
