  1. It's been a year

    by , 12-16-2008 at 12:14 PM
Poor neglected blog! I just looked at the date of my last entry and it was over a year ago! Whoa! Been too busy or too tired to keep up. Part of me wants to go back and update all that has happened this past year, mostly as some sort of diary of Alyssa's first year since bad mommy didn't keep a baby book for her either. Luckily I can just cut and paste her updates from the Jan. 08 playgroup board. And then the other part of me thinks screw it! Just start over. I'll have to think about it... ...

Hi everyone! One of my dearest friends is a photographer and we did a session with her in Nov. for some family pics for our holiday card. You can see some of the results on her blog. We are the first family featured, the M*** family. Thanks for looking!

It was almost 3 years ago that I delivered Ariana at this gestational age. And here I am at that same gestational age, pg w/ dd #2 and thankfully not on bedrest or in the hospital. No signs of PTL either, although I think that's due to the terbutaline I've been taking. Cerclage seems to be holding up well.

I am so, so thankful to have made it this far. Each additional day that my baby continues to grow inside of me is just gravy. I know that she will be fine after she's born ...

  4. 32w peri appt.

    by , 11-30-2007 at 10:29 PM
It has been a while since I last posted, but honestly not much has been happening with this pg. Thank goodness it has turned out to be uneventful considering the rocky start we had!

As of now, I have gained 28 lbs. but when people see me and ask how far along I am, they say I'm really "tiny". I guess it's because all of my weight is centered on my belly. The rest of me looks pretty much the same. I was actually pretty worried that perhaps the baby wasn't growing ...

  5. 27w update

    by , 10-26-2007 at 08:41 PM
Well, after my scare at my last visit when I thought I was having contractions, I'm happy to report that I had a really good visit with my peri. I have now made it past the point where I was hospitalized on bedrest with dd#1 and being on terbutaline to prevent contractions as a precaution has really eased my mind.

I couldn't see much during my u/s, but baby girl sure was active, punching me in the stomach! Dh said she looked like a little boxer! She is doing well and measuring right ...

  6. So close, yet so far!

    by , 10-11-2007 at 02:21 PM
So get this, I called and asked if my number from my 1-hour glucose test was really high or borderline like last time, and they said it needed to be under 140. Well, guess what my number was. 1-FREAKING-40!!!!! I can't believe this! I just wish it had come in at 139 so I wouldn't have to go through this again. I am not an easy blood draw. I am still bruised from the test they did last week, so I will be going in next Fri. the 19th to have the 3-hour test done. I'm pretty sure I will pass it since ...

  7. Failed my 1-hour glucose test

    by , 10-09-2007 at 11:46 AM
Argh! I am so upset! Now this means that I have to follow the special diet for 3 days, then I have to go in to do the 3-hour test. What a waste of time! Of course, they won't let you leave during the test so I have to spend half my day there. I have no idea when I'm going to be able to do it since I need to make sure I'm there to pick up dd from school at noon. This happened to me with my last pregnancy. I failed the 1-hour so I knew it was a possibility this time. But I was in the hospital on bedrest ...

  8. 1 hour glucose test

    by , 10-05-2007 at 11:48 AM
I am 24w pg now. Dh dropped Ari off at school this morning so I could go in for this test. I had a slight headache from not eating or drinking any water and hab been hoping to get there right when the lab opened, but of course today is the day Ari decides to sleep in a little. I am the one to pick out her clothes even though dh gets her dressed for school, and he asked that I do her hair before I go since he has no clue. So of course I didn't get to the lab until 1/2 hour after it opened and ...

  9. 23w peri visit

    by , 10-05-2007 at 11:40 AM
We had an u/s done, but I didn't really get much of a view. We did get pictures of our little girl's profile, and it looks like either her hand or foot is next to it. I hope she's not like Ari; when Ariana was born, she had both of her legs up next to her ears. They ended up straightening out with no hip problems, but I remember being worried at the time. So all in all, the baby looks good.

Not so good was my cervix. It has shortened to 2 cm. Sigh. I think when I was put on ...

  10. Trip to L&D

    by , 09-17-2007 at 10:57 AM
I went in for my 21w appt. on Fri. the 14th and was so relieved to hear my peri say that everything looked "perfect". Well, I guess the baby and my cervix look great but not everything was perfect because on Sun. morning at 5 a.m. I was awakened by a sharp pain piercing my lower left side.

Having had Taco Bell for dinner the night before, I figured it was just gas and went back to sleep. I woke up in the morning still in a lot of pain but again figured it was just an ...
