School closed today for Yom Kippur. 'Tis public school but we have a large Jewish population in our community. They played together pretty well, but it is usually such a challenge to keep them both occupied with their age differences. Simon is always in Jake's face trying to get his attention. So I end up spending my time one on one with Simon so Jake can have his "space", then I have to listen to him whine about me not spending time with him.

I own a small CPA firm along with two partners, one male, one female. We travel to conferences from time to time, sometimes all three of us together, sometimes two of us, sometimes we go alone.

The male (R, age 58) is currently separated from his wife and I recently traveled with him to a conference. We look forward to this particular conference as several of our clients attend and we like to wine and dine them a bit. My partner is a very fun guy...smart, well read, well traveled, ...

I love fall the best...I'm thankful that I live in a part of the world that gets to see the true four seasons. Beautiful lush spring (most of the time), warm summers, spectacular autumn foilage and the BEASTY winters! Saw a glimmer of that "fall blue" sky....the color the sky gets only this time of year.

But, fall is unfortunately asthma time for me...I was diagnosed with it back in fall of 2002. I was getting my pre-op testing before having foot surgery and the doctor ...

I'm stretched out on the bed with my laptop typing my very first blog entry. Spent the whole day with other people's kids so I was hoping to catch a few moments of peace to no avail. I'm listening to my 4yo scream at the top of his lungs because big brother won't let him play with his new toys. Thank God DH is dealing with that....
