Graduating to OB

Well, a few days ago I saw the regular OB for the 1st time! Everything looks great; both babies are growing well and have healthy heartbeats. My OB delivers at a great hospital where they have a state-of-the-art birthing center with homelike delivery rooms and gourmet food... as well as an excellent NICU, all kinds of classes, and other facilities. He said we'll most likely plan a c-section for 2 weeks before the due date. I hope I will make it that far!
Next steps: set up appts for genetic counseling, a perinatologist consult, and the nuchal scan.
I feel fine, still woozy and tired. I seem to feel MUCH better when I exercsie (walking, light aerobics or yoga), but right now I have a cold so I'm being super sedentary until the cold clears up. What a change from figure skating for six hours a week to this! Oh well, it will be worth it!
I've had some rather sharp, localized abdominal pains that have come & gone; I've been told they're probably round ligament pain -- with 2 embies in it, my womb is growing pretty fast and stretching out the tissues that surround and support it!
In thinking back on the loss of the use of my own eggs, I feel differently now. I was making a kind of summary of my DE experience with my cousin, something for my MIL to read so she can understand more about my family, and I thought about how my mom and dad were married just about long enough to have me before they divorced. It's as if when they made me, they broke the mold, so to speak. No full siblings. No children from my own eggs. But somehow that's okay with me now, to be a truly one-of-a kind person. I know my 1/2 sibs now, and have grown closer to my cousins. And my kids will truly belong to my family and their dad's family.
Oh, and the wedding has been put off till summer 2009. I think I'll be a bit huge for a wedding gown this summer! Some people rent tents for their summer weddings for people to sit under; if I went ahead with a wedding for this summer, I'd need a tent to wear!
