The sadness is overwhelming. I wake up everyday not knowing
who my child will be today. Will he be sweet and shy? Will he
be angry and hateful? Will he be scared and anxious? It's a
toss up. If we're lucky that day, we'll get a good mix of it all.
How will I explain why he's not in school when the "old-fashioned"
school nurse calls? Or when the principal asks? All they see

Jack is doing better. He's just miserable and tired now. I think he's sick of being stuck in the house. I think we all are!

My poor baby. He's so pale. The doctor said he's not to be around other people. He can't afford to get any sicker. I'm supposed to have Bible study here tonight. My house is a disaster and here I sit. Joey missed the bus this morning and I just let him stay home. Ughhh, what is wrong with me? I need some motivation!! This coffee just isn't cutting it!

So, back from the doctor's and Jack continues to have pneumonia and the flu on top of it. AND there's basically nothing we can do for him. Great!

Today marks 6 weeks of Jack being sick with upper respiratory infections, double ear infections & pneumonia. He's been on two different antibiotics.
Now he has a fever for the first time.

I'm tired. I'm so so tired. I just want him to be comfortable and happy again.

So, in about a half hour I'm bringing him BACK to the doctors. Who knows. Maybe he has asthma like dh. I hope not. Dh has severe asthma. It's scary.

This morning dh came out of his bathroom and asked me if I FLUSHED a maxi pad down the toilet! Yes, yep, I flushed an ENTIRE maxi pad down the toilet. Yep, along with Jack's diapers. Is he kidding me? Why in the world would I flush a maxi pad down the toilet? His toilet is clogged so he asks ME this. He says, Well there are wrappers in the garbage! OK, yep, I used a maxi pad and put the wrapper in the garbage. And, how does that equate to me flushing one down the toilet????

How can he be sick AGAIN? First a dresser falls on him and we find he has a double ear infection after having an ongoing cold for three weeks. Ten days of antibiotics. Then he continues to have coughing fits that leave him vomitting gobs of mucous. Chest Xray shows pneumonia. 5 more days of a new antibiotic. THREE entire days of him feeling WELL, no runny nose, no coughing. Last night, up all night coughing. Today his face is overcrusted with snot and he can't stop sneezing. When will it ...

Instead of cuddling with Jack I got my butt outside and built a snowfort with Anna. Wow, my fingers are numb but just the look on her face was so worth it. At one time I said my back hurt and she said, "Mommy, you can go inside now, I'm okay." I said, "No, I'm having too much fun!" Her face just lit up.
We decorated it with Barbie, Nemo & Batman umbrellas to mark our territory. She thought that was the greatest thing.
