back to square 1...

Posted 03-03-2008 at 07:22 PM by dutchgirl

alrighty, so my big week of working out, eating well and drinking less came to an abrupt halt long about WEDNESDAY when I got sick Spent the entire weekend in the house with the shades pulled because the freakin' sunlight made my throbbing head feel like it would explode. I swear I tried every single OTC drug out there (every few hours not all at once ) and NOTHING helped. I finally called my doctor yesterday AM while sobbing because I was so freakin' tired of being sick and having...

The boy is OBSESSED

Posted 02-26-2008 at 07:50 PM by dutchgirl

ok, so C has been causing trouble at school -- over a GIRL! He always wants to sit next to A, be near A, etc. etc. and apparently gets very territorial around her. We were invited to her house over the weekend and when it was time to go he threw the biggest craziest fit I have ever seen! Well I guess today at school he hit someone and I asked him why and he said because he didn't want him talking to him...but DH says it was because he didn't want him talking to A.

OY VEY!

Yup, March is going to be my month

Posted 02-26-2008 at 07:47 PM by dutchgirl

Like my friend flea I like to do my resolutions on a monthly basis and sometimes I start early just because. Got up and did some pilates and an "on demand" arms workout (I am sore). I decide that March is for "M"oney and I am going to do all those little maintenance things that I've been meaning to do -- get rid of extra credit cards, send in the rebates that I am owed money on, fill out the claim from my FSA acct, etc.

Ahhh, a whole new month! Too bad it freakin'...

Monday, Monday

Posted 02-25-2008 at 06:38 PM by dutchgirl

Got up early and went running today! I think it was about 4 miles. So, there you go. One weekly run down.

Of course I am super tired tonight and will be in bed by 9:00 - hopefully meaning I'll be able to get up and workout in the AM. Night all

Dear diary...

Posted 02-24-2008 at 05:59 PM by dutchgirl

ok, this IS IT!

I need to buckle down and get serious with my excercise and eating habits. I swear that the AD that I take makes me so lax. It helps tremendously with my anxiety but it just makes me be someone I'm not with regard to self-discipline. I used to be so good about running, yoga, etc. - things I enjoy. Granted I don't have as much time as I used to with working F/T and contracting on the side, plus two kids but I just want to get back to feeling fit rather than being...

completely humbled at the race yesterday!

Posted 09-24-2007 at 05:22 PM by dutchgirl

OMG, this was an elitist running crew for sure. I could tell the moment I showed up. It was a whole bunch of running teams in these slick matching outfits who were out running BEFORE the 10 mile race The course was soooo frickin hilly I thought I would die. I did a little walking here and there and my final split time was 8:44/mile - pretty good for no real training. However, I felt like complete crap afterwards - like I had a hangover. I got home and both kids were napping so I showered...

Preschool

Posted 09-21-2007 at 06:49 PM by dutchgirl

C is doing well there and I have noticed a big advance in his artistic skills over the last few weeks. He is really good at coloring in the lines and one of the teachers commented on it today. He is also super good at remembering names and faces. He knows the name of every child in both classrooms - something like 40 kids and he even knows many last names which surprises the teachers since they don't use the last names often. My sister is like that too. She hears a name or meets someone once...

15 month stats and my evil pedi

Posted 09-21-2007 at 06:45 PM by dutchgirl

N had her appt today, one month late no less

She was 23 lbs (75th%) and 32 inches (90th%) - my long and lean lady!!!

All went well although she did not like those shots one bit. She now has 10 teeth with two additional molars on the way.

My pedi was talking about a strategy for when kids don't share (I didn't ask so not sure how it came up ) She was saying that if C had a hard time sharing that on the next gift occasion I should buy...

uh oh - teacher sent a note home today...

Posted 09-17-2007 at 06:24 PM by dutchgirl

Dear Lisa and DH,

I am afraid that Cameron was very disruptive at rest time today. He was standing and talking and not listening to numerous requests to stay on his mat quietly. I hope he will do a better job tomorrow.

Mrs. XXX

My reply...

Dear Mrs. XXX

Welcome to my world!

Just kidding, I hope we don't get another of these any time soon!!! He has been spoken to.

Diversity?

Posted 09-17-2007 at 06:17 PM by dutchgirl

So, this has been bothering me a bit. I know a lot of companies these days have diversity programs, which I get. BUT, mine has goals regarding the number of diversity candidates they hire - and yes, this includes women. It leaves me to wonder if I got my job partially because I am a woman? I guess this should make me feel glad because I had an advantage but it actually kind of pisses me off. That should not be the criteria for hiring someone especially when everyone knows that they have to...
