I am officially a Certified Lactation Counselor!!! I'm so excited! I got a little certificate and everything. My friend M, who was in the course with me, and I are going to go out and celebrate on Friday with some beers! Yippee! I have some calls to make today. I hope I can start something soon - either volunteering or observing some consults. I hope to transition into this new career by the middle of next year. . .

Next stop, the ILCA conference in July. I'm so thrilled that it's being held here in Vegas this year - what a unique opportunity! I just have to sell some more stuff on EBay to pay for the $600+ registration fee.

Do you have to have any other schooling or is there just a specific course for becoming a LC? I think I want to work in post partum care if I actually make it through nursing school , and it would be fabulous to have an extra certifcation like LC to help me in my job. How do you find a LC school?

YAY!!!! Congrats to you! I'm enjoying living through you vicariously until I can begin the same route.

I really enjoy reading your "professional" advice given on the BF BB, even though I'm not currently nursing a baby!
