Meg's gifted class is doing a full year unit on the opera. Very in depth. Going to Carmen in November and The Marriage of Figaro in April.

My eight year old comes home and pops in a CD of the highlights of the coming season of the Pittsburgh Opera every night when she comes home.

Although she has always loved school she has struggled somewhat with organization and the "routine" of it all. The gifted program does seem to have sparked a whole new way/area...

Saw nothing ( except a DOA) until 1 am, then saw FIVE between 1 and 6. That means everytime I would finish up and drift off.....I would get awakened. I probably slept for an hour and half in 20 minute stretches.

So why the heck am I typing away here rather than sleeping?

My sis and BIL are currently in DC having tea. Large turnout.


Dh and cousins are in our little town park.... with about 1000 people having tea with Jimbo ( that would be James Traficant, fresh from prison! LOL!)

An interesting day for sure.

I am home enjoying the fruits of American free enterprise - watching the kids after "free enterprising" all night, then volunteering with the 4-H club this am at the local Antiques show. ...

My little man is so excited! I just am thrilled my kids love school. He was great last night. He has said a couple of times "Mom, I am starting to get really excited!" Me too little man, me too ( sob!).

I cannot believe we have a third grader!! She will now "switch classes" half way through the day as they team teach. Appears to be much more responsibility this year... which is good. Meg has to work on her organizational skills as much as anything so...

Here's another that I just adore.... I think it's probably as romantic as it gets... I just imagine him out on a West Texas remote ranch waiting for her... and she's staying this time....

Yes I laid down at 4 am and it's 5:37 and I am back at it... waiting on some bloodwork. I slept from 3:15- 4:30 this afternoon. Slept from 5am to 8 am yesterday morning.

I am not getting 1/2 of the stuff I need to get done. I eventually get it done.... but for instance tomorrow (today now ) is pretty shot. By the time I get home and do my "must dos" it will be noon. I then need to do some laundry and clean the kitchen ( hasn't been done since Thursday) then I will have...

I know this is dorky and corny but I have been thinking a lot about my marriage.... with a shout out to Suz....and lots of cyberhugs..... and thinking about her... and her situation.

Then we were watching this video at work... I adore this song... and Suz this is "what" he should be for you..... what you deserve.

Going to VA this weekend to judge a horse show. Three weeks from now I go to VT to judge another one. The week after that we fly to Ireland to attend a big show.

I have already judged once this year and missed a judging assignment on the west coast due to airline trouble but compared to the next month the rest of the summer was peaceful.

The good news- DH is going on all 3 trips. The bad news, I will miss my sweet babies.

I think I have officially...

she can go UNDER the fence. So it's constant patrol when they are out. Of course they can't stay out any long period of time anyway- we have coyotes around.

It's pretty funny to watch DH walk out pick her up and put her back on the correct side of the fence! LOL

Who does not have a name yet....

Pat would like to name her Dolly or Betsy ( close to the 4th of July). I am sure Meg will come up with something exotic!!
