Well it's over. Willie is gone and the kids did just fine. We buried him in our little pet cemetery and the kids were curious but not upset. We just told them that he must have died in his sleep. Glad that is over.

Sunday was just a normal day. Got up, played, made a few phone calls then went up to DH's house he is building for resale and did some cleaning. Kids had a blast running through the house. They were even allowed to use 'outside' voices while there. We went home,...

The one bright note is that I am through with my radiation treatment. I got a certificate from the techs saying I'd graduated with honors since I always had a big smile on my face and was so happy.

Mon night, Willie our 13 y/o outside cat came up to the porch and I realized he was far too thin. It was obvious he hadn't been washing either. Tues, dh took him to the vet and Willie was given a steriod shot and wormed with the advice, "well, he is an old cat". Hmmmm, 95%...

I have been reading voraciously. I received two GREAT books written by an oncologist on everything you'd ever want to know on brain tumors. Read a book by a cancer activist. Am subscribed to an email list for brain tumor folks. I think I just went into shock for a few months, but now feel like I am ready to sort through info and come up with a general plan for treatment when an MRI shows things aren't going well. Feeling empowered.

Two more days of radiation and one week more...

Ryan got me up 7/22 much earlier than I wanted, esp since it was my birthday celebration day (Lauren has difficulty understanding the diff between actual BD and celebration day). Well today is my 46th birthday. DH, the kids and I went to a local party store and picked up party supplies. L wanted to pick out Tinkerbell. I finally convinced her that a tropical party (including a blow up bra for me that has artificial fish floating around in it) would be a lot of fun. We got hula skirts for the girls and the boys will wear their swim trunks. We bought palm trees, parrots, plates, napkins and pin wheels for decorations. This is such a strange time. Last Wednesday I put some time in researching some alternative therapies (vitamins) to augment my treatments and looking at trials.
