    by , 04-07-2013 at 07:24 AM
If any one has read my previous blog then they would know that I was undergoing my third IVF cycle treatment. I guess it was inevitable that the cycle was doom from day one when my FSH came back at 17.9 but I had some hope or vision that the figures would magically produce some eggs for me. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and that dream is still a dream. The past seven days has felt like i was sitting on a never ending roller coaster with one day feeling excited and happy and the next sad and ...

  4. Planning our third and final IVF... overwhelmed!

    by , 02-13-2013 at 04:52 PM
The Doc and I discussed a bunch of variations to the IVF protocol to maximize egg quality and quantity and implantation rates. The power to the building went out right at the beginning of our discussion so we could not pull up computer files on past cycles. We reviewed the information that we had on paper file as well as some articles I had brought from medical journals. Our appointments are usually 10-15 minutes long. This one was very long, but it needed to happen.

    Funny--for ...

  6. Sometimes Don't You Feel Like We Need an Infertility Press Conference?

    by , 01-24-2013 at 09:59 AM
    (http://licthebook.com http://laughingisconceivable.com)

There are times when you're trying to conceive--especially if you're going through fertility treatments-- when you really don't want to share any info with anybody. It's just too depressing, too complicated, too stressful, and just, well, too exhausting. Why can't we do like the President of the United States does? Why can't we give as much information as our public needs to know on our terms. (Truth be told, our public needs ...

  8. Rudest RE

    by , 01-06-2013 at 12:45 PM
I've been seeing a great RE for the past year, and we've seeing some progress with various treatments. I had to get an ultrasound this morning and had to be seen by a different RE. What a big difference! This woman was extremely rude, blunt, and poorest bedside manner I've ever seen. I came home and felt so defeated... I'm so glad I have a supportive husband and a good USUAL RE! I'm hoping I wont have to see that other woman again. Wondering if there are places I can rate how terrible she ...

  9. 'Twas the Night Before the Holidays..A Tribute to YOU

    by , 12-30-2012 at 10:31 AM
'Twas the night before the holidays--Family starts to arrive...They'll ask personal questions. I don't intend to survive.

Aunt Helen starts right in "Still no kids?" as she pats my pouch.
She looks around the room like I'd hid them under the couch.

She waves her finger and starts her usual chant:
"So why do you refuse to make me a great aunt?"

"Are you doing those drugs? Does hubby's sperm swim slow? Are you ovulating ...
  10. Recovering and Coping after Miscarriage - What to do?

    by , 11-14-2012 at 03:51 PM
I am new here, and I'm sure that there are many miscarriage blogs already. But here is my story. I got pregnant in July with my first pregnancy. At about 6 weeks, I had bleeding, but my doctor heard a heartbeat and told me everything was fine. He was also able to rule out ectopic. At my 11 week appointment, there was no longer a heartbeat. It turns out that the 6 week u/s had revealed a "focus" and an abnormal heartbeat. I was pregnant with identical twins in the same gestational ...
