  1. Researching how to become a mother

    by , 05-21-2013 at 07:51 PM
Hello. Today is my first day joining Fertile Thoughts. I was diagnosed with cancer when i was 22 years old, and had a re-occurrence of same cancer when i was 25. After my second diagnosis, I sought for second opinion for treatment options, and ended up being treated at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. My only chance of cure was to have a very extensive surgery to removed the tumor. The surgery was successful. I am 26 and am now cancer free. I am not able to have children of my own due ...

  2. What Brought Me Here

    by , 05-12-2013 at 09:27 PM
Back in January a specialist told me the only way I could have a child was through In-vitro. Soon after he sent me to the office of his financial advisor for my counseling of the costs included with the procedure. I sat there completely stunned not hearing one word of the thousands of dollars I would need for the entire process. I just couldn’t grasp the idea I couldn’t have my own child. All I could think about was the lifetime I’ve had of dreaming of one day holding my little baby in my arms. ...
  3. Life Lessons from Furbabies

    by , 04-27-2013 at 06:07 PM
My furbaby has nurtured me through many hard times, including 13 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVF cycles. She taught me how to meditate and how to stay in the moment when anxiety strikes. She taught me how to stretch, how to nap, and how to enjoy... REALLY enjoy simple pleasures. I owe her so much more than I can ever repay.

I was talking with my vet on the phone about establishing a timeline cutoff for my Furbaby's nausea to stop before taking her to the emerg clinic and possibly ...

Now I have a new plan of action:

TTC naturally April, May, & June (and if not luck)

I am praying that I can get pregnant within those 3 months. I have my HSG exam scheduled tomorrow morning to make sure that the tube is still open. This will give me a 3 month fertility boost!
I am still hopeful and very much positive about the situation.

    *But, still ...

  7. Planning our third and final IVF... overwhelmed!

    by , 02-13-2013 at 04:52 PM
The Doc and I discussed a bunch of variations to the IVF protocol to maximize egg quality and quantity and implantation rates. The power to the building went out right at the beginning of our discussion so we could not pull up computer files on past cycles. We reviewed the information that we had on paper file as well as some articles I had brought from medical journals. Our appointments are usually 10-15 minutes long. This one was very long, but it needed to happen.

    Funny--for ...

  10. Sometimes Don't You Feel Like We Need an Infertility Press Conference?

    by , 01-24-2013 at 09:59 AM
    (http://licthebook.com http://laughingisconceivable.com)

There are times when you're trying to conceive--especially if you're going through fertility treatments-- when you really don't want to share any info with anybody. It's just too depressing, too complicated, too stressful, and just, well, too exhausting. Why can't we do like the President of the United States does? Why can't we give as much information as our public needs to know on our terms. (Truth be told, our public needs ...
