This might mean you should go ahead and not take a break, but of course I encourage you to do whatever feels best mentally, physically, and emotionally! It can take up to 3 or 4 IVF cycles to see success. After that, your doctor might tell you to consider moving on to the next treatment option. However, if you are open to a second opinion, that might be valuable as well. Hi Carol, I had the same experience with my second cycle - 0 fertilisations. However, just 2 months beforehand I had a cycle with 8 eggs retrieved, 7 mature and 6 fertilised. So hopefully your doctor can adjust your protocol for a better response next time. It can and does happen! All the best.
