Working in child protection we see some pretty sad things done to a child. It is actually pathetic what parents feel they have the right to do to their children.

Why do parents think that it is ok to hit their child so hard that they leave bruising or marks. Why do they think that hitting your child will "teach" them a lesson?? I do not understand what hitting has to do with correcting a behavior. To me it is only instilling fear, mistrust and violence in their little ...

We had the in-laws tody for a visit ... I like to call them the "out-laws".

The visit was ok ... we have had previous issues with my MIL and the way she did things with our baby and how we felt she did not listen or respect our parenting choices. I went to the dentist last night ... I HATE THE DENTIST ... not because of the teeth thing but because when things are in my mouth out of my control and I feel trapped in a chair with people standing over me, I panic. We had a trying day today ... well for half the day anyways.

We started a new mom and baby group which went well. Griffin is so busy these days, he cannot sit still for one minute. I love his independance and confidence right now. He sees something he wants and he goes for it no matter what or who is in his way.

He missed his morning nap because of the mom and baby group and then refused to go down for his afternoon nap ... sheesh ... we had one miserable baby ...
