In today's post, I look back on late March of this year. I can't decide if I was naive or just optimistic. I'll be easy on myself and go with optimistic. We all learn from life's experiences. Sometimes we learn the hard way and that is ok - it's just life. But anyway, in these posts I am gearing up for IUIs with microsort. It took over 4 mos to get accepted into the clinical study get the fee waived for microsort, so this is sort of the end of that process and the beginning of the actual ttc process.

Gearing up for iui with microsort next cycle

I just wanted to update you all. We have been accepted into MS and completed our infectious disease testing. We are going to do the IUI with clomid and trigger shot and I can't wait. We have to drive 500+ miles to the MS center, but we enjoy a good car ride! I know it may not happen on the first cycle, but I am very optmistic about this process. Wish me luck. If I can avoid passing on this nasty genetic disease, we can end it for my all of known family (as I am the last procreating woman)!

I have been reading the Alice Domar book Conquering Infertility and it confirms what I believe about positive attitude being oh-so-important. So, we are going to have a fun trip. We have already found a reasonable hotel in the area that accepts dogs (our lil dachshund goes everywhere with us), and a nearby doggy beach. So, if we do end up going down there into the summer, the three of us can swim. In the meantime, we can all walk along the beach. I told my dh that we have to have a late checkout or else find a shower elsewhere so I dont show up for the iui with sand between my toes!

To which a friend responded: a positive attitude is a definite. the cycle we conceived my dd was the last one before we moved onto ivf and somehow i was more relaxed, did not feel as much pressure i knew what our road would be if it did not work and viola i now have a 5 1/2 yr old!

To which I responded: Thanks for your support and encouragement - you are an inspiration! I got AF today and all the arrangements are made for this cycle. The actual IUI should be during the week of April 11th, so I will let you know (can't wait for the stickie embie dance)!
