Why, oh why can't I just be excited?!?! DH last night booked a trip for my upcoming 40th b-day in April. We got an awesome deal at Sandals for a one bedroom villa suite with its own pool and even a butler. OMG, a butler!!! I told dh it will probably be the easiest week of his life because I'm a do-it-myself kinda gal. The guilt is hitting because I had asked my mom if she'd be willing to watch the kids so we could go for a 3 or 4 night getaway which she agreed to, but then we started checking ...

DD lost her first tooth, a bottom front one, in the car on Saturday on the way to dance class. She was sooooo excited.

It was an extremely cold morning here so I went out to start the car and came right back in the house to find dd's friend K putting a figure skate on in the middle of my living room which has hardwood floors. dd was just telling her not to stand up when I walked in the room. There's a few small dings but no long scratches, thank goodness.

I watch dd's best friend two mornings a week before school. I just saw her mom while picking up dd at school and this is what she said to me. From the way she said it, I know it's not a good "story." I hate the build up. If ya got something to say, say it. Now if she doesn't call me I'll be wondering all weekend.

I heard this morning that the elementary school teachers in our county could opt to strike soon. They've been without a contract for several months. DD will be devastated. She loves school. She couldn't wait to go back after Christmas vacation. Thankfully, I have my mom and dad to watch the kids so I won't be scrambling for childcare.

Here's the one we chose. He came home just before Christmas and is an absolute sweetie, a real snuggly little guy. He's now 11 weeks old. DD decided to call him Sapphire.

Provided the weather's okay, we'll be going to pick him/her up!! We're so excited!! We've tried to keep it a surprise for dd but last night when we were tucking her into bed she started talking about kittens and then came out with, "I think we're going to get a kitten next week." Ugh!! I asked her why she thought that and she said, "I told you, Mom, I'm an elf." That's her response to everything right now, she's an elf and just "knows" things. I tried to blow ...

We are on the waiting list for a ragdoll kitten that will be coming home around Christmas. DD has been bugging for a kitten since our sweet "Bandit" passed away three years ago very prematurely at the age of 8. We finally decided we're ready to have another cat and are going to surprise dd with it. We have the second pick of the litter so I can't get my heart set on a specific one. Here's the ones I've narrowed down to.

I'm trying to create a Christmas card in Photoshop Elements and I'm ready to just chuck it all. First the kids did not cooperate for pictures at all. There's a shock, I know. DD has her first loose tooth. She is sooooooo excited. For over a year now she keeps saying, "I think this tooth is almost loose." LOL!!! I think she's one of the last ones in her class to lose a tooth. She's almost 6.5 and is in Grade 1.
