We've had dh's aunt and uncle here from overseas since Friday night. When they asked if they could stay here for the second week of their vacation, we happily agreed, not realizing that it would also include his mom and his sister. Dh and I have been working our a$$es off keeping everyone fed which hasn't even been appreciated. ... is going to drive me out of my freakin mind this summer!!!!!!!! It is so hard to keep a 3 1/2 year old and a 7 year old even remotely quiet during the day. We live in an open-concept bungalow and he sets up his computer in the dining room nook off the kitchen. I also work (if you can call it that) at home several days a week. And thank goodness I'm not very busy this summer. I came in to my office today just to have a break. Four more weeks till school starts!!!! I hate rushing the summer...

I get home yesterday to an e-mail from one of the teachers at dd's dance studio saying the three main teachers are banding together to open their own studio this fall. They are all extremely upset and hurt by an e-mail that went out to the competitive dancers' parents by V, the owner of the studio. I had only skimmed the subject e-mail because we'd already decided that dd wouldn't compete this year. So I went back and read it and I can totally see their point. It stops just short of calling...

... so I'm going to try blogging it out. Five years ago we purchased what was supposed to be our "dream home" and instead it has been our "little house of horrors" as I like to call it. We have a lawsuit against the builder and the municipality and every time things start to heat up I feel physically ill. The phone calls have been fast and furious today. I feel like I'm going to puke, can't concentrate on my work and I really NEED to get some work done.

... to "Fertile Road". We live on a small, dead-end road in the middle of nowhere and currently there are two moms expecting their 4th child. For one, this will be her 4th in only five years. The other one has a 7 yr old, 5 yr old, 18 mo old and is currently 11 weeks pg. And then there's another mom currently expecting her 2nd, her dd just turned 2. Even I got pg all on my own after 5+ years of IF while living on this road.

There was face painting going on at dd's dance studio today and there were two women and one guy doing it. The guy gets finished and looks to the girls waiting in line and asks who wants a butterfly ... no one responds. So he asks again, nobody here wants a butterfly? Still no response, just a blank stare from the girls at the front of the line. So my dd pipes up that she does so he tells her to take a seat. It wasn't till after he'd already started that I realized another mom had her panties...

Not sure how this is going to work out because I also work from home several days a week. This could happen within a month or so. He has to have high speed internet and we live out in the boonies so the only option is satellite. It's quite expensive but his company is willing to pick up the tab. Then we need to figure out if we have to add yet another phone line. We already have two, but may need three. He's hoping his Voice Over Internet phone system will work with the high speed...

... that is the question. DD kinda snuck in under the radar to compete this year in ballet. She only does one ballet class a week and she's supposed to do two and also turning class and leap classes to compete, but she was only in a ballet production of CATS and her teacher really wanted her in it.

So I got the schedule today for next season that starts in Sept and to compete again, we would be at the studio Mondays from 4:15 to 7:15 (there's a one hour break in there) and again...

DH informed me last night that everyone's salary will be rolled back 5 percent. I think I just lost a lot of respect for his boss. I know they've been hit by the economy just like everyone else but they are not losing money. They're just trying to pad the bottom line at the expense of the employees. DH has already been hit really hard in that he's lost his bonuses that usually amounted to 50 percent of his salary. The irony is I'm more pissed off about the 5 percent. We will be okay and we...
