Spending Report

I was checking our bank account online and found a link to our spending report. Apparently, the bank sorts all our purchases in to a variety of categories like groceries, utilities, restaurants, etc. Very interesting. My goal for the New Year is to cut back on our spending as it seems we are over budget in some areas. How we spend so much on groceries I'll never understand, but this is one major part of our budget. I think I'll have to cut back my visits to Target and Starbucks LOL. This spending report will definitely help me meet my goals.

All the kids still have runny noses. I called the ped this morning cause Luke's nose is really think and yucky. They told me what I already knew, just give him some OTC stuff at night and call back if he runs a fever. So, now I have to decide if he should go to preschool tomorrow. They are NOT very fond of runny noses there, but he's not acting sick or anything. Hopefully he'll make it tomorrow because I know they have some Christmas projects to finish up and they start winter break after Thursday.

I think I am pretty much done with my Christmas shopping. I just have to get a few things for dh and then finished. This year I went to Kohls and stocked up on their kitchen towels and ceramic decorations. It seems like each year we get "surprise" gifts and don't have anything on hand to give back. This year I'm prepared!!!!! Now I bet this will be the year of no surprises. I did tell dh that next year I would prefer not to exchange gifts with his gym buddy's family. Buying gifts for everyone in their family, I have spent more than on members of our own family. The kids and I rarely ever see their family, so its not like they are our great family friends. The men can buy each other gifts, but leave the rest of us out!! It just seems like each year our gift list gets longer and when the credit card bill comes in dh gets upset that so much money has been spent. Oh, that reminds me we still have to buy for dh's best friend and his sister. Shoot, maybe my Christmas shopping ISN"T done yet!!!

That is a cool feature at your bank!! Is it a national bank (like Bank of America), or a local one? I wish ours had that!

I was debating on getting Quicken next year, just so I could easily track spending.

    Very cool!
