  1. I know he knows

    by , 11-17-2006 at 11:39 PM
It's been a while since I updated this blog.

Juan Pablo is sleeping right now. He's such a great baby. He's starting to smile and I know he knows I'm his mom.

It's late, and I don't speak (or write) English after six.

Today I will head to León so tomorrow at 9:30 I can pick Juan Pablo up. I'm way beyond happy.

Got a diaper bag to prepare!!! Have to go.

  3. My baby, and not mine yet

    by , 10-16-2006 at 07:12 PM
We finally got to meet Juan Pablo. We went to the home to meet him. After the explanation from the adoptions director, after she asked if we had questions, we finally got to meet him.

His nanny came with a little blue bundle. His face was covered. I rushed to hold him. Such a small baby and so well behaved. I guess he knew what we were doing there. You don't want to leave a bad impression on your new parents, do you?

My feelings are hard to describe. I felt ...

  4. A blanket

    by , 10-05-2006 at 04:10 PM
I got him a pretty blanket. I'm planning to hold this blanket during the night. I don't know if they will allow me to hold him or anything. Perhaps they will just show him to us. But I want him to feel that we are near him.

Yesterday we called my MIL. She's in Bariloche, Argentina, right now on vacation. I wanted to tell her before she goes to Chile, because there's no way we can contact her until she gets to Santiago.

At first, she was very happy and excited. ...

  5. The other calls

    by , 10-05-2006 at 09:40 AM
When I told DH about the boy, he was speechless. We had less than an hour to call the "Home" and tell them if we accepted.

He just said "I don't know" over and over again. Then, he received a call at his office and he just told me "I'll call you back".

He called me ten long minutes later. He said OK.

I called back, told them see you on Friday (that is, Friday, Oct. 6).

We will be flying today to León, tomorrow ...

  6. La llamada (The call)

    by , 10-04-2006 at 07:37 PM
(this is BIG...that's why I'm writing in English)

Today I received "the call". Every prospective adoptive parent in Mexico is waiting for it.

    Today was the day.

I was distracted. Saw the ID on my phone, and thought it was my sister from León. It wasn't. I was called by the sister of Mexico's president. She runs one of the "homes" where I applied to addopt.

She told me: "I have an opportunity for you. It's ...

  7. La espera que desespera

    by , 09-26-2006 at 01:18 PM

  8. Valle de Bravo

    by , 09-25-2006 at 11:57 AM

  9. Reviviendo la tristeza (or sad again)

    by , 09-17-2006 at 09:31 PM
I was about to see a pregnant friend. I told DH that we should bring them a present. They've always been so interested in our adoption process that it seemed fair to have the same interest in their pregnancy. DH said that since we hadn't been notified officially, we could do it next time (I agreed.)

When she arrived she told us right away not to congratulate her. She had lost her baby last week. We were women at the reunion and three of us had gone through that... I was telling ...

  10. ¿qué tal que es niño?

    by , 09-14-2006 at 12:15 PM
