Well we aren't moving. The owner decided she didn't want to rent to anyone with pets. Oh well I guess it wasn't meant to be. I have more important things to focus on. My drs appt went fine today. I am 2 cm dilated, slightly effaced and baby is at -2 station. The dr could easily feel his head(no surprise because it feels like he's falling out sometimes!!).
Dh is likely having surgery again this week, maybe Thurs. We have decided that's it best to have them remove his left hand. It's so incredibly bad. There isn't much "hand" there after the last surgery and he only has part of one finger that's not even functional. It barely moves at all. What's left of his hand is a lot of unhealthy tissue and bone and he would likely lose wrist fuinction is more was removed. I am relieved actually because once it's done he can get on with it, heal and not be in so much pain. His right hand has two partial fingers that are a little functional. The dr will try to straighten them during surgery and then clean up the palm part of his hand and prepare it for grafting. He may be able to gain more function with his fingers on the right hand with therapy.
I hope I can hold onto this baby til 39-40 weeks to give DH some healing time. I know he almost assuredly won't be there for the birth, but at least if he has some recovery time he won't be as uncomfortable and I can bring the baby to see him. I hope his new son brings him some joy in the midst of this. He's so positive anyway but I think our new baby will lift his spirits.
