WOW what a week from he!!
I went to the dr yesterday morning for all my results from the blood work and ultrasound. I have never felt rushed by this dr, he is my rheumatologist and I really like it, plus he has a great reputation.
He was running a 1/2 hour behind. I got in his office and he told me that the ultra sound was "pretty much normal" except that my liver is enlarged. He said he didn't know why. He said some of my bloodwork remained abnormal, and some was normal but on the very low end of normal. He said that if he puts all the results together, nothing jumps out at him - "so it must not be serious". Hmmm.... I asked that if some tests where abnormal and my liver was enlarged, then maybe I should have more testing. He disagreed and told me to come back and see him Dec 21st and to get blood work done 2 weeks prior "and maybe it will just work itself out and it will be back to normal"
Now I am feeling uneasy about this. I am not a hypocondriact in any way. I just don't want to sit back and wait and do nothing and find out in a few months that it's something serious and get the "why didn't you insist" speech. So for right now I am waiting and pondering my options.
DH and 300 other workers at him job received their termination papers yesterday. GM did not renew the company's contract as of yesterday so they were all given termination notices effective on Dec 31, 2010. There is still the possibility that they will sign with them, but apparently there is another company who is competeing for the contract and coming in with a much lower cost. UGHHH - just what we need to be worrying about now.
Isaac had his assessment done at Grandview last night for Occupational therapy and physio therapy. He already had one assessment done there in august - but we really disliked the therapist and she really disliked isaac. We complained to his DR there, and she said she would look into it personally for us. We got a call on Wed and another assessment scheduled for Thurs - now this in itself is a miracle because the waitlists are crazy.
He did amazing with this therapist. She really wanted to work with him and they "connected". It was an hour long, and he did stuff that DH and I didn't even know he could do.
Her recommendation is that he start therapy there as soon as possible and will let us know by next week when we start.
So much going on, so much stress, but my 3 year old son laced a shoe lace thru a block last night and it made both DH and I tear up. The little things matter most.
