  1. this week

    by , 10-15-2010 at 12:32 PM
this week has been pretty hectic.

Isaac has had therapy every night and one night he had 2 sessions to go to. He is handling it all as well as he can. He is in a structured day care center all day - so that in itself is also therapy for him. They stick to a strict schedule with him because they find if they don't then he goes "off" and then the behaviours start. As long as they stick to the schedule he has been having pretty good days.

    Eric is doing well. ...

  2. Going downhill FAST - DH received term. papers

    by , 10-08-2010 at 07:10 AM
WOW what a week from he!!

I went to the dr yesterday morning for all my results from the blood work and ultrasound. I have never felt rushed by this dr, he is my rheumatologist and I really like it, plus he has a great reputation.

He was running a 1/2 hour behind. I got in his office and he told me that the ultra sound was "pretty much normal" except that my liver is enlarged. He said he didn't know why. He said some of my bloodwork remained abnormal, ...

  3. Crazy, busy, overwhelmed

    by , 10-05-2010 at 08:10 AM
Things have been getting crazier and I find myself stressing out over the simplest things.

I still have not found out the results from my u/s last thursday. I go to the specialist this thursday, but i called my family dr today just to ease my mind that nothing is wrong and they don't have a copy of it yet. That did not ease my mind. O'well 2 more days and i will know.

Isaac appears to be sick. His little cheeks are bright red and have been since saturday. He has ...

  4. Ultrasound

    by , 10-01-2010 at 06:35 AM
I had my ultrasound yesterday. Hard to say how it went. The tech spent a long time doing it, and she wasn't very talkative. When it was done I asked if she could ease my mind a little and just tell me she saw nothing "major" and her response was "well, I can't tell you a thing so wait for your appt with your Dr."

I don't go back to the dr until Oct 7th -next thursday so I have a feeling it's going to be a long week.

I don't know how long it takes ...

  5. Sept 29th

    by , 09-29-2010 at 10:50 AM
There is so much going on lately that I need to start keeping track of info.

Isaac is developmentally at the age of 18 months as per Infant and Child development assessment - he actually turned 3 on Sept 11th. He is saying words like - no, ball, bye, hi, juice, car. Other words are coming but only to the point where DH and I know what he means. Diiiooo means dinosaur, ah means cat, oooo means cow.

Some words are being used in the correct context and some aren't. ...

  7. Sensoroy book

    by , 03-25-2010 at 06:42 AM
DH and I had our "more than words" course last night. I am finding it really interesting as Isaac is at "own agenda" stage, so basically everything applies to us or will in the future.

This week's task is to create a homemade book. Isaac doesn't like books on a good day. Just the other day at daycare he ripped the pages out of 3 of their books - that's another story - how did he get 3? and how did no one notice number 1 or 2 getting ripped up - anyway - our ...

    by , 03-22-2010 at 08:17 AM
This has to be short - typing with one hand.

We had a good weekend. I am working 6 days a week because of tax season so DH had to gave my parents a break and refused overtime for saturday so he could watch the kids. Gave him a run for his money LOL He took them grocery shopping and Eric was awesome - he's 4 and likes to eat so grocery shoppiong is fun - for Isaac not so much....DH was trying to get a cart when they first got there and had to let go of Isaac's hand for 5 seconds ...

  9. Costume day and HUGE accopmlishment

    by , 03-18-2010 at 06:21 AM
Today is costume day at daycare. Eric is 4 and of course loves days like today. He choose the monkey costume and looked adorable. While i was helping him put it on this morning he says "Mom, I am gonna look super cute" Man, I love that kid!!!

I didn't put a costume on Isaac. He has major sensory and textile issues so costumes are more torture than fun to him. Eric asked why his brother wasn't dressed up - I hope I handled it okay - I said "Well, your brother ...

  10. Limits and Isaac isn't liking it

    by , 03-16-2010 at 08:42 AM
The video taping last night went much as expected. We have to go to the centre and meet with the course leader. It's only us and her. Isaac has now been there 3 times for this. We brought his swing blanket and she was able to see us do that with him, he actually said "aga" for again when he wanted us to do it again. But that was it. Once we did it twice he went to the chair grabbed his coat and tried to give to both DH and I while screaming. He was DONE and wanted to leave. Part ...
