  1. A rebel.

    by , 02-03-2006 at 09:10 PM
I think that is Tess' problem...she has been acting out - not listening, messing up K's things, etc. Tonight after I brought her home from her Daisy Troop's cooking class, I took Kelsey to her Brownie cooking class (yes, I spent 4 hours at the supermarket standing around watching them cook!). When K and I got home, K found that Tess had taken her new sleep mask (don't ask!!) and tried to cut the string off!! She also had taken K's new mp3 player upstairs, who knows what she had planned for that. ...

  2. A GOOD day for Michael today!

    by , 02-02-2006 at 08:52 PM
We had a follow up visit with Dr. S - the ENT. His ear is still full of packing but from what Dr S could see, it is healing nicely. He will see us again in 2 months. Still cannot get the ear wet, but M got the OK to fly (not that we are going anywhere soon) - except he might have trouble with the pressure.

After the appt, we stopped at the pharmacy to pick up more Tylenol meltaways, M's pain reliever of choice. He had never been to a Duane Reade before and thought it was a very ...

  3. M's trip to the ER

    by , 02-02-2006 at 08:48 PM
2/1/06 - storing memory here in my blog till I have time to put this in his baby book!

Michael's turn to get hurt. I always tell the kids, don't run, you will fall and crack your head. They always laugh. So what do you think happened today?? Actually I don't think M was running, just walking fast and maybe his socks were sweaty b/c he had just taken them off after school. Anyway, I hear SPLAT and then feet scurrying away, then I went into the hall and found a trail of blood. He was ...

  4. My Big Girl

    by , 01-31-2006 at 09:44 PM
Each year, on Kelsey's birthday, I write her a letter...the collection sits in a drawer and someday I will give them to her, most likely on a milestone birthday. This year's letter is a day later...and blogged instead of handwritten.

Happy belated birthday to my sweet girl!! I can't believe that 9 years ago today, we brought you home from the hospital, not quite 24 hours old. I wish I had those early photos on disk so I could post one here along with yesterday's picture.

  5. Random thoughts

    by , 01-12-2006 at 09:00 PM
Michael went back to school yesterday. He still complains of mild pain, also alot of itching (stitches healing) - we are treating with regular tylenol which he gets 3x/day, and that gets him through. He's such a trooper! He brought home 2 tests - one is a cumulative unit review and the other was math. He got 100% on both! Really proud of him!

Tess has been doing great with her reading and math skills. By the end of January, kindergarteners are expected to know and recognize numbers ...

  6. About Kelsey's Meet

    by , 01-09-2006 at 04:31 PM
Kelsey had another meet yesterday. It was the official start of their season, even though she had competed in 2 invitationals last month.

    Her AA was 34.75!!

They did not give out event medals b/c it was a clinic type meet where they judge and then the judges critique each gymnast after everyone was done.

    Bars - 8.7
    Floor - 8.7
    Beam - 8.75
    Vault 8.6

Anyway, since her birthday is at the end of the month ...

  7. Post Op Day 3

    by , 01-09-2006 at 04:28 PM
Today, the girls went back to school, so it was just me, M and DH. We napped all morning M was getting cabin fever but he doesn't understand that he needs to rest and take things easy. At some point last night he must have done "something" b/c he woke up with blood clotted by the incision.

M's teacher sent home a nice note with some work for him to do (I asked for it). She also sent home a book for him. He cried when he saw the work "that is SO MUCH WORK FOR ...

  8. Post Op Day 2

    by , 01-08-2006 at 07:52 AM
We took M's bandage off last night, and his ear looks like it's sticking out more than the other....will try to post a pic but not sure if i can do it in my blog. (Is that an upgraded membership?) Anyway, DH thinks maybe it's just swollen...I am hoping it's not b/c they didn't stitch it back "right"!!! So far, no tylenol today. M is balking at not being able to use straws - what fun is it to drink juice that came from a pouch, but now has to be in a cup?!!?!?! The stitches do not ...

  9. Post Op Day

    by , 01-07-2006 at 01:10 PM
M woke up during the night, took a sip of water and said his belly hurt... The dr said if the nausea continues we should give him another suppository I am thinking it will go away by itself... He got up around 7:45 this morning and still felt a little funny but he was able to have a drink and a pedialyte gel tube. By the time I got back from taking Kelsey to practice, he had eaten 4 french toast sticks. I guess my eating boy is back Midmorning, he complained about ear pain so I ...

  10. M's surgery, finally!

    by , 01-06-2006 at 10:31 PM
Today (oops I mean yesterday) was Michael's surgery. Thurs night we fed him dinner at 6:30 and then a Happy Meal at 8:30 followed by ice cream at 9:30 He got up Friday morning and was asking for breakfast, which we expected. I reminded him that today we are going back for the operation so he couldn't eat but he could have some juice or water. He got mad and refused both...ended up drinking about 2 sips total the whole morning. We dropped the girls off at school and ran a bunch of errands ...
