A Baby in Need of Prayers...... (warning: baby ment)
I heard this on the news and this baby need prayers. Ya-Ya's please pray for this baby.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Police Seek Parents After Newborn Tossed Out Of Car Baby Still Had Placenta Attached POSTED: 7:52 am EST February 11, 2005 NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Broward County, Fla.'s sheriff said Friday he hopes that at least one of the people who threw a newborn boy out of a moving car is feeling remorse and will come forward. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Slideshow: Newborn Thrown Out Of Car -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sheriff Ken Jenne said his investigators are working to identify the couple who threw the boy, believed to be less than an hour old, onto a swale alongside a busy street Thursday afternoon. The car then sped away. The 8-pound, 2-ounce boy, whose umbilical cord was still attached, survived with minor injuries and was in stable condition Friday. This newborn baby boy was tossed out of a car in Florida. "I would hope nature would take its course and they would feel remorse," Jenne said. An unidentified woman, who originally thought the couple had thrown a puppy out the window, stopped to help. The woman said she approached the package and it started to move. When she took a closer look, she discovered a baby inside a plastic bag. She removed the baby from the bag and wrapped him in a towel. The woman picked the baby up and drove him to the Broward Sheriff's Office. Authorities said the baby still had the placenta attached. The baby was taken to Broward General Medical Center. Jenne said the woman who brought the infant in, who he calls a Good Samaritan, was "very distraught, very upset." He said the baby was believed to be only an hour old when he was tossed out the window and that it is very possible the boy was born in the vehicle. Investigators are searching for a white, older-model large sedan, possibly a Crown Victoria, that eyewitnesses observed leaving the scene. The baby's rescuer told investigators she observed a black male driver with an Afro hairstyle and white female passenger with braids who were arguing inside the vehicle. But she saw only the back of their heads, Jenne said, and could not provide a good description. Anyone with information on the driver or passenger and/or the infant's parents is urged to call the Broward Sheriff's Office at (954) 765-4321 or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS. Detectives are also asking the public to be alert for any woman in that area who may have just given birth and seeking medical treatment. North Lauderdale is about 15 miles northwest of Fort Lauderdale http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/...in673158.shtml
I live in Fort Lauderdale and it has been all over the news here. My heart broke when I heard it for the baby, but it also made me so angry. Why is it that such underserving people are able to have children while so many worthy people on these boards struggle.
What's worse, when they find the parents, they will probably be let off with a hand slap. Some excuse of post-traumatic stress, etc. We have an attorney around here called Ellis Rubin (or something like that) that takes on all these low life cases (and we have had a lot in Florida over the past few years). Somehow he seems to get them off. How people can be so evil I just can't imagine. Tracy
Just heard on the radio here that they caught the woman that tossed the baby. And the sherriff said, "After questioning the woman, it puts a whole new light on the situation".
But he declined further comment. The baby is doing well at the hospital. Praise God. Surely our prayers helped save this baby and help it to continue to heal. :
OMG!!!
I'm watching the news Live and it was just said that the good samartan that brought the baby into the hospital is the mother. The police have taken her statement and admitted her to the hospital for observation and pysciatric care. The state wants both the baby and a 10yr old child removed from her custody. This is mind boggling.
