I know I am very very new here. I stumbled across this board while trying to find stories of people that similar beta levels to me. All of you seem very knowledgeable So I'm hoping someone can tell me what is going on. I am seeing a fertility dr. This was my 4th cycle of follistim, Ganirelix acetate, ovidrel and I am currently on progesterone suppositories 2x a day and baby aspirin.
Here are my beta numbers
12 dpo (13 days past trigger) 25.5
14 dpo (15 days past trigger) 55
17 dpo (18 days past trigger) 247
20 dpo (21 days past trigger) 283
20 dpo was Friday, I go back to the dr on Monday for another redraw, and depending on those results an ultrasound on Wednesday (5 weeks 3 days) to determine placement and I guess viability?
I did have bleeding from 12 dpo - 15 dpo, and then some minor spotting on 19 dpo.
Results 1 to 10 of 24

Your first few numbers were excellent, but that last number is quite worrisome. It could be a vanishing twin... The only way to know will be with the redraw on Monday. If it has risen then there is still hope, but if it starts to fall, then unfortunately it would be a miscarriage. You need to have a beta above 1000 to see anything on an ultrasound, so it might be worth waiting a few extra days if your beta on Monday falls short of that. Good luck!!

my husband mentioned the vanishing twin theory too. I would just think that my initial numbers would have been higher if that was the case? When the nurse called me yesterday all she told me was that the numbers weren't going up like they would like and that's why we are doing the redraw. She wouldn't give me any odds or anything. I guess since everybody is so different she really can't give me any odds. She did tell me to continue the progesterone and baby aspirin so I guess its not completely hopeless.

Ehhh that is true that with twins it probably would've started out higher...but there really is no way to know until the numbers start dropping or you see a good u/s...

I really feel like I have been in limbo for the last 10 days. the 25.5 and 55 were considered "low" and then they were happy with the 247 and I opted for the 4th beta that was only 283, just for peace of mind. I almost regret that decision now; ok I really regret that decision, I probably could have remained blissfully unaware for a little while and just been happy being pregnant.

I had twins and my first beta numbers were low like yours. I don't know what is happeneing with you but it is possible to have twins and low numbers to start. I did end up with vanishing twin.

Ambersan: That last beta doesnt have to mean anything critical at all!! Vanishing twin maybe the case, but it is so much more important for you to just be at peace until your Monday beta. I read that you have one child already. So you know what to look for and feel if there were to be a problem. I am of the mindset, that No news is good news............!!! Like you. Good luck tomorrow. How are you feeling today??
