I was wondering if you ladies could give me some feedback. I went to work today (4w5d pregnant) and one of my u/s techs offered to do a scan...we did a transabdominal ultrasound which showed nothing but a thickened endometrium. Is this a bad sign or is it too early to see a gestation sac on abdominal ultrasound? Trying not to freak out!

In my opinion, it is really early- at 4 weeks, the baby is about the size of a poppy seed! Also, they typically do a transvaginal u/s early on because you can see a lot more that way- they do the abdominal ones when things get bigger and move higher up in your abdomen. I personally wouldn't stress out over that- it's so early! I think your beta numbers are most important right now. Let us know what happens!

I agree with the previous poster. You wouldn't be able to see anything on an abdominal ultrasound so early, which is why many places only do vaginal ultrasounds before 7 or 8 weeks. Also, 4w5d is really early to even see things on vaginal u/s, so don't stress. Baby (and sac) are super small right now. Congrats!

I just had a scan (vaginal) at 6 weeks nd saw a heartbeat of 99. Most dr don't recommend scns before 6 weeks. I was prepared to see nothing and re scan a few days later.
Sending you best wishes

Don't let it worry you!!! It's WAY to early to see anything on an abdominal ultrasound!

Transvaginal done! One sac, right where it should be, measuring 5 weeks exactly, no yolk sac or fetal pole yet, but it's early! Thank you all for your support!
