Very low beta at 5.1 on cd 28 - day 29, still no period

Hi Everyone,
New on here and hoping for some advice or comments.

I did my first cycle of clomid days 5-9 and got the hcg injection on cd14.
I got two positive hpt's (first response) on cd 26 and 27 - faint, but definitely there.
Had my blood drawn yesterday on cd 28 and the hcg level came in at 5.1. I know that's low and I'm expecting my period to start any moment now (although I don't "feel" it coming at all), but I was wondering if anyone on here had super low hcg levels and ended up having a viable pregnancy anyhow. I was told by the nurse that I had a "good" ovulation, so it's possible that I ovulated later than was expected and that if my period doesn't start I should go back on Monday for another blood test.

I had one chemical pregnancy without infertility treatment about 10 months ago and I'm hoping that it's not happening again - although my gut tells me otherwise.

Any comments or thoughts are very much appreciated.

Hi. You might have had late implantation. I had a low beta on day 29 (it was 36) and now I am 8 weeks pregnant. My Dr said the lowest he has ever seen on day 29 is 7 and she was pregnant. So since you are day 28, you might be ok!

When is your next beta?

Thanks for your reply and encouragement, molliea. If my period doesn't start by Monday, Oct. 12, I will go for my next beta then. Here's hoping for late implantation!!!

No, I didn't need to go for another beta because I ended up getting my period on Sunday night

When is your next beta? __________________ Me(32) nothing that we know of Hubbie(34) azospermia August 2007 - IVF/TESE (transferred 1 5-cell embryo) September 2007 - positive beta! June 2008 - had healthy baby boy (miracle!) May 2009 - IvF/TESE - no sperm found - used donor sperm - transferred 2 8-cell embies June 2009 - negative beta August 2009 - first donor IUI (2.5 mg Femara)
