High initial beta, but not rising very fast.. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very upset and frightened. I did a donor egg IVF. My transfer was September 9th.

9dp5dt my beta was 248 (Friday, Sept. 18th). I was just thrilled and happy! RE said to come in four days later for another beta (Tuesday, Sept. 22). It was only 533. (no longer so happy) It took four days to double!!!!! I'm very upset, and waiting to test tomorrow.

Anyone else with similar results? And, if so, how did it turn out?

Carabelli,

I have not gone through that, but I have spoken to plenty of women who have. Just stay calm, most who I spoke with slow rising betas turned out just fine!

Wishing for the best for you!

Tara

Yes, I had two transferred. I've considered vanishing twin. I sure hope so. (though I would have been thrilled with twins!) But, I found a post on this site somewhere that scared me. She had a similar beta pattern, and it turned out she had a vanishing twin BUT, her RE told her it was 90% likely to be mc, and only 10% chance of being vanishing twin. OMG, that was discouraging to read. Though, maybe she was older and using her own eggs? Who knows! I am grasping at straws here, and just trying to make it through the day.

Look at my siggy- my beta went up 1 point in 5 days!! And so far I have a healthy bean. My doc says eitherlab error or vanishing twin.

Yay Maryevelyn, I am glad you mentioned your beta numbers on here....I was thinking of you for this thread! You are a perfect example of how beta numbers don't necessarily determine a healthy baby. If you don't mind me asking, when is your due date?

Hello! I am so sorry you are in beta hell. I had a case opposite to yours. I started with a very low number of 24 and all is well now. As far as the other post, you just have to wait it out. Your case is a completely different one.

When I was waiting for my beta, I had some girls who were in my shoes before and it was a chemical pregnancy for them; and some, who were writing to tell me that their number was even lower, 19, and they had a healthy baby.

I know it is so tough for you right now. I really mean it when I say I know.... but I am hoping it turns out well for you.

Good luck and there have been many miracles on this board.....
