meaning of 14dpt and 14dpo
I did a FET cycle and got my 1st beta at 14dp 5dt and it came back at: 2000. To me this is really really high. I am so so scared that I am having multiples, maybe even more than 2 or 3. I transferred 3 blasts. How stupid of me to do that. My 1st pregnancy at 14dp5dt I got a bet of 210. I am trying to compare my beta with some of you here, but have hard time understanding as some of you list days past ovulation. What is equivalent of ovulation to transfer days. It has been a really long time since I did IUI and temps. so I cant remember what ovulation days are?
Also, anyone have a high beta level and end up with a singleton?

really? you think beta of 2000 at 14dpt/19dpo is a normal singleton? All the comparisons I did here on beta board, shows twins or more.

slowmo -- beta ranges are really wide and I keep seeing that one should not read too much into them. When is your u/s? That will tell you for sure. My betas are really high, and I was worried about twins as well, and many responded to me with similar betas as mine with singletons, and I've seen many on the beta board with similar betas and singletons. But you are right, I've also seen twin pregnancies with similar betas as well. Mine tripled in 48 hrs from 13dpiui to 15dpiui (dpiui is about the same as dpo), and at 22dpiui it was 10,039. When I asked my RE about my betas, he said he would rule out 3+ and thought it was likely a singleton, though he said he couldn't rule out twins. Don't know if this can give you some peace of mind regarding triplets. I had IUI with 4 mature follies, and although my chances of getting pregnant with 3+ was less than 5%, I worried.
I did go back and read your original post more carefully, and I wonder if beta levels are consistent within each person. I wonder that because I always have very high betas, and you noted your last pregnancy was at a significantly lower beta at the same stage. One thing I was told when I was freaking out about having twins (my RE's NP consitently tells me that I won't be able to carry twins to term given my history) is that it doesn't necessarily mean that both will stick around. My first pregnancy was with twins conceived naturally, very high betas but I lost one at 10w; at the time I was so sad, but it later turned out to be a blessing because I went into early labor with the singleton and would have never been able to carry twins to term in that pregnancy. My second pregnancy plagued with all-day nausea seemed sure to make it because the high betas were supposed to be the culprit of the all-day-long nausea, but it ended in an empty sac at 8w. So one just never knows until the u/s I think. Mine will be in 8 days and I find out then whether I have one or two, or whether there is anything viable at all! Can't wait. Good luck to you. Do keep us posted. Sounds like your due date is within days of mine.

Thanks Supercalm-My ultrasound is this Thursday, I think I will be 6 weeks 2day and if it is a viable pregnancy, I was told that my due date would be May 13. The super high beta, nausea and the empty sac really scared me now. But, I will update here when I get my ultrasound.

slowmo - didn't mean to scare you. I am sooo sorry. I always suffer from all-day severe nausea. I start right aways and stay that way for a long, long time. I was sick right until my m/c last time, and I was sick for 6 months with my first.
I'll be 6w5d on Thursday, so just a few days ahead of you. I haven't even tried to calculate my due date - but I guess it will be in May based on yours. I am not doing anything until I can see something in my first u/s. My RE wanted to wait until after 7w. I see that many people go in after 5w to check for the yolk sac (or how many sacs) first, and then again after 7w to check for the heartbeat. I guess my RE didn't see a point of finding out early how many sacs, and prefers to wait until it is possible to detect a heartbeat. Fine by me since I don't want to get my hopes too high either. Though the wait is so hard... 6 more days to go until my u/s. Good luck to you tomorrow. Let me know how it goes! I personally would LOVE twins but am afraid too because given my prior experience, I don't think I could carry multiples to term. So it's hard to know what to wish for, other than healthy baby/babies. |

Supercalm-You were right about how beta # dont mean anything. I had my ultrasound today and only one sac and one hb. The nurse did see another yolk in the sac, which she thought maybe was identical twin, which never grew. Thank you for all you advice. Good luck to you. Come back here and post when you do your ultrasound!! I will come back and check on you.
