Miscalculated dates or miscarriage/chemical preg???
Hi everyone,
I hoping someone can give me some insight into my situation. I have 1 DD after PIF (PCOS - usually really short cycles not really long ones). I had a miscarriage in Dec 08 due to triploidy. Right now, I don't really know what is going on with me. My last period was July 9th. I began to get pregnancy symptoms and I wasn't getting my period so I took a pregnancy test, and another, and another and yes, another! All negative!!! I still wasn't getting my period so I got a blood test done today which showed an HCG of 17. My doctor told me that my dates are either off and I'm just much earlier in a pregnancy or I'm going to miscarry/chemical pregnancy. I'm getting another blood test done on Tuesday, but I'm really wondering what is going on... Is it possible I was pregnant before and then the HCG levels are just going down? (but if that was true, why didn't I get a positive test??). I know no one can really know, but if anyone has any advice or support it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all of your kind words.
Unfortunatley, the pathologist was unable to find any fetal tissue in the clot that I passed (sorry if TMI) so they can't determine the cause of the miscarriage. So a few questions... 1) What WAS that huge blob that came out of me?? 2) Anyone know what is involved in a work-up for recurrent miscarriages? Even though this is only my 2nd consecutive miscarriage they want to do more tests because our history of infertility (PCOS/Mild MF) and some minor clotting issues. Thank you! |

I'm sorry that I don't know the answers to your questions. There is a pregnancy loss board that would probably be able to help.
Again, I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope to see you back on the beta board soon! Last edited by AthenaD; 09-23-2009 at 08:36 AM. |
