Is there any hope for me?
I'm currently around 5w2d pregnant with my 3rd baby. I got a very faint BFP on 8dpo and beta/progesterone #'s are as follows:
10dpo- HCG 30; P 26 12dpo- HCG 47 18dpo- HCG 148 22dpo- HCG 288; P 10 I started Prochieve 8% on 18dpo. I felt like I ovulated from both ovaries, and I know I have a cyst on both my left and rt ovaries (from past history with cysts, I know what they feel like). My OB and I suspect the rt cyst ruptured (I have a history of this also) on 16dpo. I was on a Clomid break when I got pregnant, in anticpation of starting treatment with my RE on my next cycle. All blood work has been done with my OB since I have had only had testing and consultation with my RE. My OB is non-committal either way about this current pregnancy - he says he has seen betas do crazy things, etc. He has scheduled an ultrasound for next Monday. I spoke with my RE yesterday, and he said the same thing about betas doing crazy things and not to lose hope completely, but he was very concerned about the drop in progesterone. He said that is not a good sign and progesterone should always go up. I meant to ask my RE if the cyst rupturing could have caused my progesterone to drop, but I forgot. However, I read online that it CAN cause progesterone to drop if it was a corpus luteum cyst. My OB said it would not. Is there anyone out there who has had a similar experience or know of anyone who has had a situation like this and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I have no cramping besides very mild cramping off and on around my ovaries; I have had no bleeding or spotting. I am not having any more beta's done. Should I just prepare myself for my first miscarriage or is there ANY hope that this could turn out okay? My beta's aren't even doubling in 4 days now, so I'm below the lowest percentage of increase (50% I have found listed online); my RE looks for 53% over two days. I am hanging on to the very rare possibility that there could have been two babies initially since I felt ovulation from both ovaries, but I know this is a long shot. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I am sorry that I don't have any a positive story about low betas or even slow rise betas but I have read many many positive stories from others that have had low and slow betas that had healthy babies. Many of those stories I read on this board last week when I was in beta hell waiting to find out if mine would become one of them. I pray that your little bean keeps on growing and that he is just a slow starter. Keep the faith and try not to stress (easier said than done I know). Please keep us updated!

Well, I don't have a progesterone story that can quite relate, but I have naturally low progesterone with pcos, and with my pregnancies I have to take progesterone supplements..an injection in the am and a suppository in the pm. Maybe your doc can give you a suppository and see if that helps?? My betas were low in the beginning of this pregnancy. At 10dpt it was only 12 and then went up from there. At least they are going up for you. I wish I could tell you something that would help more, but I wanted to at least offer you this, and tell you that I hope with all my heart that baby starts to pick up and that your ultrasound goes well. Try to keep your chin up sweetie. Best of luck!

Thank you, thank you, for the kind replies. I just feel so lost right now, although I am trying to hang onto the small chance that this baby is healthy and growing! I spoke with my RE today, and he encouraged me to not give up, so I'm NOT giving up. I'm praying and hoping with a guarded heart that this baby is meant to be a part of our family.
Thanks, again.

Bad news for me, unfortunately. This little one just wasn't meant to be.
My ultrasound yesterday showed no sac, "contracting" endometrium, and beta was 311 from 288 a week before. I have stopped my progesterone and am already spotting a little bit. I'm hoping this m/c won't be too bad since I'm so early and my numbers were so low. Best wishes to everyone dealing with questionable beta's.
