Super 1st beta, 2nd increased 62%

Hi there,

Just had my second beta drawn. My first on Wed was 505, we transfered 2 5day blasts, then my second draw today and was only 819-- fresh IVF.

I'm reaching for straws here, looking for any ladies who may have had similar betas with successful pregnancies. I go back on Monday for the third, but am fully preparing myself to lose this pregnancy.

I am hoping that only one embie has expired, thus slowing the rise slightly, and the other is holding on.

****, this is going to be a VERY LONG WEEKEND.

Soupy

Hi! WHat did you doctor say about the second beta>>?? I have read a ton of people on here that have had slow risers! Your beta was so big the first time, which is great!

Soupy, the clinic I use looks for a 60% increase every 48 - 72 hours, not a doubling. They say that the 60% is their standard, and your numbers are right in there. Good luck.

Thanks Deneil-- Just reading your signature and Congrats to you!!!

I had my beta today and it was 1683 PHEW! From 819 on Friday. So a doubling time of about 69 hrs. The nurse was relieved, as was I-- she said it was good. I am to back in a week, just as a precautionary to make sure things are moving along. Then if everything is okay, we'll be scheduled for an ultrasound.

Still extremely-cautiously pleased, and the numbers never really matter until the heart beat is seen on ultrasound.

Thanks to everyone for posting their info and sharing their stories.

Jenx-- still crossing my fingers for you.

Soupy

Beta #4 is back 4848 and nurse says its looking good. I go for u/s next week, praying to see hb. I know betas slow down after about 1600, but I'll be much happier to see hb instead of numbers.

Thanks for your support ladies!

m/c mentioned

Hello Ladies,

Just wanted to update my sad ending. We went for a 9 wk u/s yesterday and there were twins, but sadly both hearts stopped beating. I'm going to wait and see if they pass naturally, if not, then D&C.

I'm getting thru it and FINALLY going to close the chapter and journey thru IVF. I have two beautiful children conceived thru IVF and now, we are going to adopt our third child.

If anyone is planning on adopting, maybe I will see you on the adoption boards.

Soupy
