low beta, the wait is killing us
Here is our data so far. Today is 12dp5dt
9dp5dt - negative EPT test (this killed my wife) 11dp5dt - beta - 26 12dp5dt - very very faint line on 50u test more distinct plus on the 20u test, but not as bold as the other mark The suspense is killing us. This is emotional roller coaster is killing my wife and I can't stand seeing her so upset. Our nurse said that the number was low but positive and we go back for another beta tomorrow (13dp5dt). I'm trying to stay positive, but I'm paranoid and afraid to get too excited. How do you guys feel about our situation? Do you think we have a chance? Poor quality pic of sticks.

low beta
Charlie,
Try to stay calm and keep your wife calm. I think it is actually more normal than the Dr.'s think to have slow rising beta's. I did and I'm fine so far. The Dr.'s are puzzled, but that is their problem. What happened at the blood test? |

We had our second beta test this morning and it came back a 42.
They said they wanted to see it double and that it did go up but not high enough. They told us to prepare for the worst and that there is a slim chance of a normal pregnancy and are worried about ectopic, etc... Is there any hope at all? The emotional turmoil that this process causes is incredible. This is our first IVF after 4 failed IUI's and it is killing us.

Charlie,
Hang in there. My beat only rose by 11 the 2nd time around. I just confirmation today that everything looks great and it should be a successful pregnancy. It was my first IVF also after 56 iui's so I know how you feel. It is a waiting game and quite frankily sucks! Hang in there and don't lose hope as your wifes #'s are not dropping, just slowly going up! |
