Only One Beta and Wait for U/S

Hi everyone! I just finished my first IVF cycle and was thrilled to find out Friday that I am pregnant. My first beta on 9dp5dt or 14dpo was 376. Unfortunately, I don't have another beta and my first u/s isn't until 9/23. I'm so nervous that I'm thinking of calling Tuesday to beg for something sooner. Does that sound normal? Thoughts on whether the number could be singleton or twins?? Thanks. Suzi

I just finished a medicated cycle and found I was pg on Thursday. I am so excited! I've been TTC for 10 years so I'm still in shock. On that day I was 14dpo and was told my beta was 174. So by the sound of your numbers that sounds double what mine is. I'm guessing you might have twins!

Congratulations to you both!!!

SuzieQ- I would definitely ask for another. You want to see if they are doubling or not. I can't believe they don't at least do 2 betas!

Congrats, Anxious!!!! I'm so happy for you and 174 is a great beta!!! I've been on the August IVF board and there are so many ladies on there who are in horrible wait and see with low betas that I really, really appreciate being in the high beta club. There is a thread just started on the pregnancy after infertility board for women who are due in May - you should join us!

Thanks Rubybaby for validating that it really does seem odd. I can understand the u/s wait - I know h/bs don't always show before 7 weeks so it's probably good that I'm waiting. I'm going to call tomorrow and beg for another beta. I do have a history of a ectopic so that will probably convince them to do the second beta (even though I'm not having any symptoms of that, but that can be our secret, right??? ).
