How many beta tests?

I just had my second beta test this morning, had my first one on Sunday (8/24) and it was 150. Hoping it's doubled today. How many beta tests are typically done and how often?

Typically, if your doubling times are good, you only do 2 or 3 betas. Repeated every other day (sometimes 3 days, like if you have it done on Fri. then again Mon).

How many days post are you? Was the 150 your 14dpO draw?

Just spoke to the nurse, actually my first Beta (12dpo) was 136, and the one today came in at 228 (14 days), it the would have liked it to come in closer to 300. She said it's nothing to be overly concerned about but that I could come in on Thursday for another test for piece of mind if I wanted. Otherwise, they will give me an ultrasound on Sept 4th....I'm a little nervous.

Those numbers sound fine- try not to fret too much!! 136 is really high for 12dp!!! I was only 137 at 14dpo. As long as it doubles every 48-72 hrs, you should be fine. Try to relax!!!

I wish you the best.

Cricket- I'm doing pretty well so far, no m/s yet!! NO symptoms really, but my betas are doubling every 40hrs or so, so I'm relaxed! This was my 7th IVF cycle and finally some success!!! I'm just so happy that, GOD WILLING, next spring I will be holding a beautiful baby!!My u/s is Sept. 5th!! We will have to look each other up!! Are you thinking twins? The betas vary so much, it's hard to judge!!!

good for you and congratulations, you must be one of the most patient people on earth... 7th IVF cycle, I'm sure that was rough, but it's paying off! I wish you good luck on the 5th, and glad you are relaxed and #'s look good!
I'm not thinking twins, a friend of mind told me that my initial numbers would have to be much higher if there was more than one (but then again, who knows.) I just hope for this pregnancy to continue.
