High betas now slowing - normal?
My betas seemed to be doubling too fast initially and now they have slowed down significantly. The docs say it is normal for it to slow b/c it is at such a high level, but I'm very nervous as I am only 6.5 weeks and have had 5 previous losses in the first trimester. I'd love to hear if anyone has had similar beta patterns. I'm going in for an U/S Friday when I should be about 7 weeks - should I definitely be able to see a heartbeat then if this pregnancy is healthy?

My numbers with my youngest were:
10dpIUI - 21 13dpIUI - 126 20dpIUI - 3377 27dpIUI - 18203 34dpIUI - 72708 The doubling time from 27dpiui to 34dpiui was 3.5 days. It is totally normal for them to slow down! Your numbers sound great. Congratulations on your pregnancy!!!

Thanks for the support guys. Will you weigh in on a couple of other things? Has anyone ever NOT seen a heartbeat on ultrasound at 7 weeks and then gone on to see a heartbeat later, or is it pretty definitive at 7 weeks that there should be a heartbeat? I'm trying to mentally prepare for tomorrow.
Also, are any of you on progesterone supplements (prometrium)? My RE put me on them, 200mg/2x daily, as a precautionary measure but I have never had my levels tested. Is this something that is normally monitored (weekly?) and how long are people usually on it? |

I saw the h/b with both pregnancies at 7 weeks.
I took progesterone suppositories (100mg 2x/day) with both pregnancies. I took them until 12 weeks and everything was fine. My levels were low before I started taking them (dropped from 20.5 to 10).

Hey guys - we saw a heartbeat Friday! It's still so early and we are still so nervous but feel optimistic at this point that that maybe something is different this time and this one will keep going. I go for a follow-up ultrasound in 2 weeks. Thanks for all your encouragement.
