Betas not close to doubling at 5.5 weeks...anyone else?

After my 6th IUI, on the cycle before I was to start IVF, I finally got my BFP, after nearly three years TTC. But I had my beta levels taken and I'm concerned. If anyone has any advice, please help!

5 weeks 1 day: 5,260
5 weeks 3 days: 7,110

I've spent hours and hours on the Internet and have mostly found information that is not encouraging. I was just wondering if anyone else had numbers like this...

thank you...

After 6,500 they do not double. The lab just gave me that information yesterday. Hope you can do some more research on it, but I would not be concerned at all.

Thanks, Mamma. I know they don't always double, but...my doubling time is like 110 hours. ??? I heard anywhere up to 78 or even 96 is ok...

I copied this for you...hope it helps.

HCG usually doubles every 48-72 hours. That usually corresponds to HCG levels below 1200 IU. From 1200-6000, the HCG usually takes 72-96 hours to double. Above 6000 IU, the hCG often takes over four days to double. So, the rate of increase in HCG levels normally varies as a pregnancy progresses. Normal HCG values vary up to 20 times between different pregnancies, however, and an HCG that does not double every two to three days does not necessarily indicate a problem with the pregnancy. Some normal pregnancies will have quite low levels of HCG, and result in perfect babies.

HI. I don't know if this will help, but I have heard and read that when the numbers get higher they don't necesarily double. I hope all works out, though. Has your doc said anything about the numbers? I think when I was 4 weeks 5 days my beta was 3979, so they aren't that far off. best of luck and keep me posted.

I'm not really worried about the raw numbers, just the doubling. The nurse sounded confused and didn't give me any information about whether the number was bad or not. You can't talk to the doctors at my RE clinic, so that's all the info I could get. She just said to come in for my scan next week.

Just in case anyone was doing a search and was worried about their numbers, I thought I'd follow up.

I had a very positive u/s at 6w2d, saw the h/b at 122, and everything seems fine. So I wasted a lot of time panicking about these numbers.

Hope this makes someone else feel better.

was curious how things were going? i'm kind of in the same situation as you were. hoping my stressing out and worrying is all for nothing.

here are my numbers but couple these with the fact that i've been spotting since Monday of this week and when they did an u/s on Tuesday, it was measuring 5w3d instead of the 6w6d i thought i was.

7/21 11 dpo 76
7/24 14 dpo 323
7/29 19 dpo 1907
8/14 35 dpo 11950

anyway, i hope your are enjoying your pregnancy.
